I wish NIS would pay more attention to other consoles. ..
Yes, yes I know, there are ports, and only one original game for the PSP.
Phantom brave? it was okay. Disgaea DS, it was okay too, but NIS had no real reason to hold it back that much. And the 360 has NOTHING!
Come on NIS, you have to pay more attention to other consoles that aren't playstation.
I mean, you guys are creative, you come up with the wackiest RPG's ever made.
I'm sure it wouldn't be very hard for you
to come up with an original series for each of the other consoles.
Honestly, ports aren't good enough to satisfy our hunger for fun games.

Re: I wish NIS would pay more attention to other consoles. ..
i assume.. u r directing this directly at NIS right, not NISA?
While i'm not surprised that they r making games for the ps3 and psp, i am surprised how they haven't jumped onto the DS. The 360, i'm not surprised about because.. let's face it, it is an ultra niche system in japan (not here though) so it's no surprise they wouldn't make the game there but the DS though... i'm shocked that the userbase isn't being tapped into.
Only game on the 360 i can think of that has NIS chars would be cross edge as i do believe it's getting ported over in japan (don't remember by who)

Re: I wish NIS would pay more attention to other consoles. ..
They'll start going to other consoles once the Playstation 2 is done. Right now, its still going strong, so I don't see a need for them to. They already have a good line-up for 2010.
And the fact that the 360 isn't really popular in Japan, it's not helping that there just isn't much to work with.
But honestly, you'll never know, maybe they'll surprise us again with something big.... something unexpected again. People were surprised when they decided to release ST5 here. I know I was.
If you want games for the current consoles, you could always look at what Atlus is offering. NISA isn't about to change their ways so suddenly.

Re: I wish NIS would pay more attention to other consoles. ..
NIS isn't a very big company, they really can't do a lot of games.
They do ports because it's an easy way for them to make money. They did try the HD route with Disgaea 3, and while it wasn't a flop, it probably wasn't as profitable as their ports.
If you're talking NISA, well, they're also not that big a company. And there's not a lot of stuff for them to translate that is in HD. Japan hasn't exactly embraced HD consoles, and frankly, even the Wii has had success there about on par with the PSP.
I think if you look at Atlus, they are pretty much in the same boat. Aren't the only 360 games they've done from Idea Factory (who NISA stopped working with because of quality issues). And their parent company in Japan seems to be focused on doing a lot of PSP ports as well.
They did snap up Demon's Soul on the PS3, but while NISA might have tried for that, I can't think of any other PS3 rpgs over there (really barren)

Re: I wish NIS would pay more attention to other consoles. ..
But, isn't the DS and the Wii also really, really popular in Japan as well?
You'd think because of that they'd make more games for those systems.
But it seems like whenever they decide to port a game to a Nintendo console, they always seem to downgrade it much more then it needs to be.
I mean, look at VP, its done right.
All NIS needs to do is follow the same formula, and they can make a great DS SRPG
Plus, if they actually merged with GUST. Then they'd have about twice as many workers then previous. Meaning they could make more games, and have them come out faster.
Heck, they could even make their own series for each console if they wanted.

Man, I would kill to see NISA releasing Idolm@ster, Dream Club, Love Plus or Doki Doki Majo Shinpan here.
There are plenty of decent niche games on other consoles if you know where to look.

I agree, most of those I would kill to play in English. Well, the landscape is getting better, so we'll get to see what happens later on. I'm not going to lose out on hope that at least one of those titles you mentioned may get picked up sooner or later.
And hey, considering how surprising NISA has become, Idolm@ster may come here eventually.

I'd rather nothing was made for 360.
Apparently, that system doesn't have a very good lifespan, with this "red rings of death" thing going on. So I don't plan on getting one.
However, I think I saw someone playing a 360 game on a computer before; they had the controller. How's that work? It'd be better than a design-flawed system.

*Facepalm*
I really fail to see why the company should avoid licensing a decent game just because it's played on a console that has issues that don't even relate to the game itself, especially if such issues have already been resolved.
Console fanboys, I ****ing swear...
