whats a good group of guys to use
I'm replaying from the start and i was wondering what do you think is a great team of people to use through all the battles and to focus on the most.
example(laharl,2 archers,cleric,ronin)stuff like that)

Well I would recommend Laharl of course, Etna is okay for a while, and maybe a female warrior and fighter. Once you unlock Ronin, she'll be your best friend for a loooooooong time. With her and Laharl, you can pretty much wipe out any fight with relative ease. I'd also recommend creating them all under Laharl so that he can benefit the most from the extra gain. And if you want, go for some mages and a cleric. You'd do well to have Laharl learn some healing spells for himself, and Braveheart wouldn't be bad either.
Yeah, I know it's all generic tips, but what can I say? They work.

Check out my thread titled "Character Classes and Subclasses" in this very same forum.
Ronin have very good weapon mastery for just about all weapons.
Knights are basically Warriors who are more adept at magic casting.
Well, all those later job classes are great.
I use a lot of melee fighters, like Warriors and Brawlers; I don't particularly care for Mages, but I do have a few Clerics, whom I equip with things like Bows and Axes, according to their weapon profiency.

I use 2 Majins and a Theif... thats it everone else is just there to throw.

That's so true, SKSith; my game ended up the same way, except with just 1 majin. For early in the game, just go with a good mix of types and you should be fine. Most of the weapon types are reasonably useful, though bows are sadly lacking; guns are much better, if less cool.

in the begining i used
laharl (sword/healing)
etna (spears)
flonne (healing/spellcasting)
ninja (fist)
Scout (gun)
warrior (sword)
brawler (fist)
samurai (axe)
Cleric (healing/spellcasting)
Star Mage (killing spells) (make sure star mage has good orb, star spells take alot of mp)
laharl, flonne, and cleric have ben given extra gain.

I usually use Laharl, a Knight, and a Ronin as my sword users and they help my ax wielding Ninja surround harder enemies for a beat down. Etna spears from the side/gives items to the injured. Then I have a M. Brawler who is a backup hitter and takes care of minor enemies, a Scout to shoot from a distance, two Mages to strike with magic, and a Cleric who has mastered every element of magic to help them and heal.
Well...that was my final boss strategy but those are also the classes I usuall use.

After I got the ninja class, I just used them. It wasn't terribly difficult, except that I couldn't heal, then I just created a cleric under one of my ninja so he could learn heal spells. Ninja showdowns with the bosses were fun.
