Favourite Words

What are some of your favourite words?

Mine include:

Spiffy, derisive, cursory, pointy, buddy, and construed.

I think your favourite words tell something about your character. For example, I like a lot of words ending in an "ie" sound. What that says about me - I have no idea.

They are proud and wilful, but they are true-hearted, generous in thought and deed: bold but not cruel; wise but unlearned, writing no books but singing many songs after the manner of children of Men before the Dark Years.

Did not! I've been able to spell it correctly since I was ten. And yes, that's been several years.

Re: Favourite Words

Tian is right Telcontar, it's an "ism" like atheism or liberalism etc.

From dictionary.com, read it and weep emoticon
Main Entry: antidisestablishmentarianism
Function: noun
Definition: originally, opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England, now opposition to the belief that there should no longer be an official church in a country
Example: When people are asked for the longest word they know, they often say antidisestablishmentarianism.

That is a great word Tian.

What made everyone choose their favourite words? For some of you, it seems to be phonetics. For others, the images they invoke. Personally, it's a combination. emoticon
