They are proud and wilful, but they are true-hearted, generous in thought and deed: bold but not cruel; wise but unlearned, writing no books but singing many songs after the manner of children of Men before the Dark Years.

Hmm, guess I won't be recycling this time around...but there will be other opportunities, I'm sure. ^^

Yes, the word "Kiwi" is one of my favorites...I perk up whenever I hear it spoken, though where I live, the word "Kiwi" is used in leiu of the word "Shoe polish"...because...you know, kiwi brand shoe polish. -_-

Here's a list of words I've come up with:

Justice, Love, Respect, Understanding, Trust, Truth.

Though I guess I really like the connotations behind those words moreso than the words themselves...But I do find it entertaining to run around screaming "Injustice!" whenever the mood strikes me.

I also like the words "WFT" and "w00t". emoticon

I love w00t! I say it a lot.

Now that I have read all episodes of 8-Bit Theatre (yes, all emoticon ) the words stab, stabbity, and death are among my favourite. emoticon

I like swords.

Best. Line. Ever.

Maybe not, but I like it a lot. And congrats on plowing your way through 400+ pages of 8-bit in what...two days? Three? That's a lot of reading. ^^;;

I finished the Silmarillion in about a week and a half, and I wasn't even trying to read a lot. Normally I can finish most books in two or three days, depending on how much time I have to read, and how dedicated I am to finishing them.

But I digress. Back to topic!

Ni! Ni! Ni!

Re: Favourite Words

>_> Erm... I read the trilogy in a week, once. It was winter break...

Havoc is a good word too. "Cry havoc!" makes a great warcry.

quote:

shibby, zanahoria, gam, antidisestablishmentarianism, rill, willow, extemporaneously, dirk, scop, fletch, floccinaucinihilipilification, thou, ban-draoia, draconian, whisper, honor...

Oookay...

'shibby' is an exclamation to inidicate general good/cool/wonderfulness

'zanahoria' is Spanish for 'carrot' and sounds neat

'gam' is the correct term for a group of whales--I was looking through the dictionary (yes, I'm weird), noticed it, memorized, and got to tell it to my mom the next week when she needed it on a crossword

'anti...etc.' sounds cool and was the first realllllly long word I memorized the spelling of

'rill' and 'willow' both sound trilly and pretty and have to do with water ^_^

'extemporaneously' is a cool word to know how to use correctly and sounds shibby as well

'dirk' and 'fletch' are cool-sounding and fun and violent...heh. A short-sword and the action of putting the feather-flights on an arrow, in case anyone didn't know.

'scop' is the Old English (true Old English, before Shakespeare AND Chaucer) word for a poet

'floccinaucinihilipilification' is a very long-winded word meaning 'long-windedness' or 'wordiness'. Teh fun, no?

'thou' is shibby and pretty when used correctly

'ban-draoia' is Irish Gaelic for 'female magic-worker' and pron. 'ban DROY-ah' pretty and cool-sounding and neat meaning. I like the word for magic even better, but I can't remember how it's spelt. It's pron. 'DROY-kicht'

'draconian'...I got funny looks when I defined it as 'having to do with dragons' in my Humanities class...<sigh>

'whisper' is just fun.

'honor'. My dearest literary love is Hercule-Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac. I love honor, the very idea of it, and firmly believe the world would be a much better place if more people had/respected it.

Re: Favourite Words

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star, Hath had elsewhere its setting,
           And cometh from afar:
           Not in entire forgetfulness,
           And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come. From God, who is our home:

William Wordsworth

I memorized about 500 words of this poem back in '95 for no apparent reason other than I found it beautiful to search with faith and hope for God in nature.
