Re: Reading and Books
At the moment I'm rereading The Call of the Wild. It truly is a magnificent tale. I can read over and over again and be just as thrilled.

Re: Reading and Books
At the moment I'm reading some called The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien. Anyone else heard of him!
--- They are proud and wilful, but they are true-hearted, generous in thought and deed: bold but not cruel; wise but unlearned, writing no books but singing many songs after the manner of children of Men before the Dark Years.

Ooh! I've heard of that book, isn't it set in the Yukon? Is it by Jack London?
I want to read that sometime.
Have you read the short story 'To Build a Fire'? It is brilliance. It's by Jack London. (Unless I'm insane and mixed him up with someone else.)
You should definitely read Call of the Wild. It is a beautiful story. I've read it 10 times at least. I love it. Haven't heard of "To build a fire" though.

Re: Reading and Books
Okay. I'm going to post my review of the Silmarillion.
Author: JRR Tolkien
General overview take from the back cover: The Silmmarilli were three perfect jewels, fashioned by Fëanor most gifted of the Elves. When the first Dark Lord, Morgoth, stole the jewelsfor his own ends, Fëanor and his kindred took up arms and waged a long terrible war to recover them. This is story of their rebellion against the gods and the history of the heroic First Age of Middle-earth.
Recommended to any one who has read Lord of the Rings.
9/10

Re: Reading and Books
Am reading Unfinished Tales, A German Guide to Sweden in English (quite a twist, eh?), Winston Churchill's A History of English Speaking Peoples II: The New World (admitting that this particular book is taking way too long because of other more urgent projects), Herman Lindquist's Fjärran Han Drumlar.

Re: Reading and Books
Am about to finish off the translation of a Pettson-book which I've working on for the past three years. And just in time for my youngest newphew to get it as a Christmas gift. Only 2 and ½ pages left to go. Will be through soon.
