the OW thread

I'm starting this thread as a place to share the problems Fate and The Lady have thrown at you. Mostly because I need somewhere to *****. (ooooh! A swear word! Run!)

Today I was climbing around on an old utility artilery artery... it was a big gun and I jumped off backwards, lost my balance on the landing, fell back and cracked my head on one off those metal barrier things they use along freeways, and got covered in mud.

Now I have a huge lump on the back of my head (it stopped bleeding, at least, and you can't see it anyway because there is too much hair) and I either sprained or broke my right thumb.

So, anyone else got any bad stories happened to you lately?

Has this thread been approved by "The Board of Nurv"???

I stepped on a sucker thing....ouch! What's a sucker thing...I can't believe you need to ask...but, OK, a sucker thing is.....this.....sucker-like.....thing...used for hanging objects in windows.....it has a sucker.....thing....and a little hook....for hanging....."things"....of course.

It really really hurt and had to be pried from heal by 10 circus strong-men in baby-blue tights while chanting last-years Christmas commercial jingles.....very irritating :x

I...was baking cookies this afternoon and somehow sliced my left middle finger open at the knuckle right below the nail...very painful. emoticon And now I'm typing with slight difficulty due to the bandaid I had to wrap around it to keep from getting blood in my cookies. emoticon

Ouch Gundam! emoticon I was going to post that yesterday I fell on the ice and my knee kind of hurts... but it's not as bad as cutting your finger open! *hugs*

Oh, the cookies turned out just fine. ^_^

And my finger has healed up nicely too...there's just a small little ridge where the cut was. And that will be gone in a few more days. ^_^

My friend cut himself really badly on the hand with a knife at a campfire. He had to get stitches and have a big bandage over it and everything.

How he has this cool scar. We were telling him to make up a hilarious story for it... like...

Yeah, we had just been moose hunting when a bear came at us, and I shot it, saving the lives of three young children. As I went to skin it, it clawed me with its last, dying movement... emoticon

I hit a deer on motorcycle once . . . no one knows where it learned to drive one....ratta tat tat

No, really, I did, but it was back in 1990, and I was going 60 mph, just riding along after visiting the beach in Bandon, Oregon and stopping to say hello to my grandmother I was riding back when I hit a deer. It exploded! I woke up and decided I didn't like being awake so I tried to drift back asleep...then I had the WORST experience ever in a hospital...I had Nazi nurses and they destroyed my $145 walkman that managed to survive the crash...they carefully removed it from my jacket pocket, then carefully walked across the floor to put it in a basket when quite suddenly it flew up in the air to SMASH into the floor to shatter into a hundred pieces.....AnyHoo...I've got some great scars on my knees, elbows, chin, and the top of my right foot.....I grew up on a farm so I have too many scars from cuts on my hands to count them...there's the occasional patch of white skin among the scars, as it where...lol.

Yup yup yup....talkie talkie talkie...just can't shut me up...sheesh emoticon

Ooh, look, the revival of the OW thread!

So I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday. All four of 'em in one go. HOLY CRAP my mouth is a mess of pain...or it would be, were it not for the sweet, sweet drugs they gave me to kill the pain. They work great, but make me drowsy. And probably nauseous. So it's back to Advil for me. Sweet, sweet Advil...

As a spiffy souvineir, I was allowed to keep my teeth. Three of the four survived the operation intact, so I've got a little baggie containing three huge teeth. ^^;

It still hurts to eat, though. ;_; And here I am at home, where my mom cooks delicious food, and I can barely eat any of it. >_<

Bwhaha, you're hilarious EB. emoticon
Seriously that is all kinds of suck though.

I'm probably going to have to get my wisdom teeth out Gundam. That's awesome that they let you keep the teeth though! emoticon

I hope your mom makes you some delicious soup, Scotch broth maybe... or homemade icecream! So... good...

Homemade ice cream? Ain't been none of that around here for *years*. She did buy me lots of storebought ice cream, though. And my brother made me jello. Then he ate most of it. But he made me some more, and it's all mine. emoticon

Slowly, the pain fades a little each day...and slowly, my swollen cheeks get a little closer to normal looking. >_o

(Actually, the swelling's pretty well gone now...^^; )
