On Strike For Christmas My boyfriend's family tradition is to go "shopping" at the Library for Christmas presents. This year his mom picked up a book for me called On Strike for Christmas.
It is about a group of women who feel they and their hard work during the holidays are unappreciated by their families, so they decide they are going to do nothing for the holidays and their husbands will just have to do it all. I am only about two thirds of the way through the book, but it is hilarious, heart warming, sad, and fun all at the same time. I'll let you know how I feel about the ending.
Re: On Strike For Christmas I finished it this afternoon. It was very good. A lesson was learned but as I said, it will make you laugh and cry. Plenty of wonderful recipes in the back too, including a bonbon recipe I might try this week.
Re: On Strike For Christmas Crying is something I've had quite enough of lately, but maybe next Christmas I'll find it. I can't read about Christmas unless it is Christmas... so yeah. Something that I'll definitely add to the list!!
Re: On Strike For Christmas Well it was perfect for me this year because I was really upset about how commercial Christmas has become, so it helped me see through the tinsel and such. I hope you enjoy it when/if you get to it.
