Hollington Utd vs Polegate Town
This has to go down as our best performance of the season. Up against a very physical side as expected, and find out we only have one recognised defender in the team. Mark Davis certainly did a superb job at centre back (has he been playing out of position all these years?!), with James making an impressive debut at right-back. It was good to see us create chances and actually finish them off, which is something which we have failed to do in some big games. Three goals from headers was good as well.
A shame about the late sending off for Eddie, and conceding right at the end making the scoreline closer than it really was, but all in all, a very good performance.
Stedham United in the next round, who are league leaders in the same league as Eastergate Reserves. Some strong teams left in the competition, but we are the only representive from the Eastbourne League left in after Chelsea Acads got knocked out.

Re: Hollington Utd vs Polegate Town
Without doubt this was one of the best performances by any team I have been associated with.
From the moment we turned up to the final seconds we had the taste for it and the desire to win.
I was intially concerned about the formation and very pleased with the MoM Mavis who justified his role as sweeper.
I look forward to our next game v magham Down who will without doubt be still smarting over their loss to us in the last cup.
All players should take heart. We are a small team with a great future !!
