Poor Hillary

Didn't Hillary and Bill try to tell us that only she could beat McCain in this election?

yeah, she was wrong...she didn't know mccain would pick someone so wrong as Palin...she would have just beaten him a lot worse.

Well, she didn't foresee Palin or the economic collapse...but either would have beaten Mccain.

what if mccain had done the sensible thing and picked romney, who the moderate republicans favored and thought he brought at least economic expertise to the table? how much closer would this race be right now if mccain hadn't been such a dimwit and picked palin?

Romney would have alienated the Evangelical base - remember: he's a Mormon.

I would much rather have had Romney as the nominee than McCain. I think this would have been a much more interesting race.

yeah, but where are the evangelicals going to go? they either vote republican or stay home, and they are not the difference in the swing states than mccain, or any other republican needs....ohio, florida, pennsylvania, michigan, missouri....the evangelicans are not nearly as important as the moderates and the independents.

Romney is also a better politician and would have opened more states...Obama would almost have been forced to pick Clinton for VP to stay competitive.
