Joy, you started this board and if someone is consistently out of line and can't be put on ignore...well yes you would make the final decision, but others opinions should count too in guiding your decision.

I'm new to this board and normally only read and not make comments of my own. If you only want Lemmings here on your board, then by all means ban those that have different views than the majority. However if you want honest opinions from your members, then I think you should respect their opinions even if they differ from your own. I apologize if I have been out of line for expressing mine. Also I'm confused as to the purpose of the Steel Cage, and wonder why posts get moved there. Just my two cents.

Where do I check my mail at, I haven't found that option yet.

1) at the top of each page, you'll find:
runboard.com | Control panel | Subscribe to topic | Add to favorites | Inbox
click the link for Inbox...that takes you to your inbox for private messages (PM)s.
2) as of now, there are only two types of posters that automatically get banned:
clones - those who assume other people's identities, when it is obvious that they have assumed another poster's identity, for the purpose of denigrating or harassing that poster.
trolls - posters who post pornographic material or who use extreme vulgarities towards other posters, who have never posted anything but the aforementioned, for the purpose of disrupting the board and hurting/harassing others.
from the outset, trolls and clones were never welcomed on this board. I highly doubt you or any other normal poster on this board cares to be harassed by trolls and clones either. I consider banning such people "board cleanup", as opposed to banning a regular user.
other than these two types of posters, no one has ever been banned ever. it is my utmost desire that no one ever be banned, and the community can ensure that by not harassing each other, to the point that it becomes absolutely unbearable not just to the person who's being harassed, but to the board community as a whole. no one will ever be banned for believing and espousing what they believe. also, board members should make it a point not to violate the runboard terms of service, which are in the general info forum under "The Rules".

I pretty much agree with everything you said Joy, now tell me how this Smooch feature works. I tried to give you one yesterday and I could not see any results.

just click the "Smooch" link. it should take you to a page that says "Karma vote recorded!" and then redirect you to the page you were just at.
once the karma vote is recorded, you should see the karma number go up by 1. Karma votes are right above Edit | Delete | Reply | Quote on the right of each post.
I disabled the "Spank" or "smite" option, because some people were coming on the board and taking people's karma down significantly. So for now, your karma can only go up.
The two rules are that you can "Smooch" a person only once every 24 hours, and you can't smooch yourself.
