Racing

I am really saddened to see that there are so many unhappy race people out there , but, no matter what you do there is always a group that like to create their own problems. Testing and trying to get away like a bunch of two year olds and when it don't happen they threat and cause trouble for the others. I personally decided that an organization is only as good as their members make it and it dont seem like much help for the DCRA. There are a lot of people who try their darndest to make things happen for the good ( and you know who you are) and there are some that are never happy no matter what you do.
Membership meeting will be coming up and I will not be running for a position on the board, not because I don't want to but we decided to race at other tracks next year and get back to where it is fun racing. I also would like to let the candidates for the board know that it there will be a rough road ahead and a lot of stipulations and changes that will have to be made before the contract is signed by the fair board for the next year. I wish you all good luck and I'm sure you will be seeing changes comming up this year.
Thank you, Gary Oliver

Sorry to see your not coming back Gary, I myself would not have wanted your job this past year,,,,BUT!!! We really do have a good group of Drivers in all Classes,, A few may cause more headaches than others. NoOne is going to change things overnight, or in our situation, One Racing Year,,, But it's a start. Look at the 4cyl's for the most part this year.... Fewer cautions, Better driving, and lots more fun: Thanks to the addition of Scott Dabb.... All it takes is just one person to make a difference, but that change did not come overnight.

I,m just a fan.a race fan for many years. So maybe my comments won,t mean much. But it is the fan that makes it posible for you to race,I have read comments on both of the forums, many times having to endure very offensive language and if that is the mentality of the ones that write on there it isn't any wonder the racing is such as it is.When the racers can't respect the boards decision on the rules, after all it was you the members that voted them in,It saddens me to read on here that Gary Oliver won't be running again,He is one of the most honest and fair person I know, the whole family are an asset to the track. As many others are.but it only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel. You members better sort out the barrel and get rid of the bad apples that spoil it for every one.But I'm just a fan so what do I know.Wheels Rollin emoticon emoticon

I agree with you Paul, Scott Dabb did more than what I expected of him and I took the time to tell him that. I never once doubted any of his decisions and never overturned or argued with him. He is the one all the 4's had to watch out for and he was very fair with everyone and respected for it. We need more of that. I personally believe that the 4 cyls did an excellent job this year and I am sorry they did not get recognized more for the great effort they put forward. Like I said on the prior post It takes the members of a club to make that club the best. Remember it's easier to drag someone down hill than drag them up. Thanks for all you do.
