My Agenda as Member at Large
First off for those who do not know me: I’ve been racing in the 4 cyl division since 2004. Retired at the end of 2007, Worked on S.S. Crew in 2008, I Missed my racing Friends and having fun with them, So came back in 2009
I know the DCRA Board frown’s on utilizing this or any website for any type of Official business or input, and I agree with that. Although, the Websites available to us do serve a purpose to some extent. . As I am Not a well versed public speaker, I will do my best to explain my concerns and hopes for what I will do best to accomplish. as “Nominated” (Member at Large”) of the 2010 DCRA board.
#1. Rules need to be reviewed for All classes, and written with up to dated information, with all new and available equipment with the dollar cost taken into consideration.
#2 We need an actual job description for the Race Director. Steve jumped into a “Pit” this last season with no real description of his duties.
#3 We need to Strictly enforce the fact that:
The lack of Respect to the race track employee’s / board members / and or other drivers and crews WILL NOT BE TOLLERATED!! *** Read Section 4 “Conduct” of the DCRA Track policy***
#5 Rain dates or open dates “ Sponsorship pending” should be considered and scheduled.
#6 Rule changes/ Division Drivers Meeting: Don’t Wait until the April Meeting to try to push for a change in Rules!!! I seen it this past year!! You Want Changes…. Work on it now.
This list is Not complete, but cover’s Some of what I’ve seen this past season as problems. NOTE: I have No special interests to any drivers or divisions.
If elected to the Member at Large position I do ask for the following:
A: If you treat me with Respect,, I will do the same to you!!! If You Scream at Me?? I walk away… If You come up to me with a problem or concern , in a manner that is respectfull ,,, I’ll listen to you. . I prefer to do correspondence by E-Mail so we BOTH have a record of what was asked, and what was replied. My phone number will be available also for those who do not have internet.
B: I would like to attend the off season meetings of all divisions, Not as rule maker, But as a novice, trying to learn.

Re: My Agenda as Member at Large
Paul you have many, many good idea's and hopefully if you get elected will have a board that will hold true to the rules and make NO exceptions.
As far as getting respect from those involved in the sport, good luck on that one. I myself was witness to the horrible conduct towards a board member by a specific driver and actions that were displayed when an incident occurred that he was being held accountable for and it was the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen from a grown man. This type of behavior, I believe should have been grounds for expulsion and loss of points and pay for that nights events.
Some of our board members failed in keeping with the policy of conduct. That must NOT happen and must be dealt with. and NO exceptions to the rule. So on this point I believe is a must for everyone involved in the racing program.
You have a great agenda and if you get elected I will hold you to it!!!

Fair :to all the drivers,no favorites.
Clean: Drivers are to have respect for each other and their cars.
Honest:That one should'nt have to be explained.

Re: My Agenda as Member at Large
Bottom line is I'm not a "Yes" man, I'll do my best to make this club a fun, enjoyable place to race at. Unfortunatly, others prior to me have tried, but could not get their point thru.... All I can do is my best..

Re: My Agenda as Member at Large
We know that your not a yes man but, when things are done behind your back you don't have any control over it. Then what happens is you are as bad as everybody else. WE NEED a board that works together by making decisions together to make a difference. I don't care who gets in on the board but you will always have people crying and whining. Not liking this or that or whatever. Next year we are (as others) traveling to different tracks each week and not racing just the home track. I believe you will find others that feel the same way as we do. I also believe that your fan will follow but not every week, wherever you go.
I also don't believe that forums are a good place to whine because it puts a negative impact on the race club, track and other personal and I would never vote for anyone who writes on them in a negative and detrimental way. Most of the complainer were not even at the last meeting. When you have people from out of town running for office will or can they be at every meeting that the board has? There is a ton of questions I could ask But could go on forever. Should a driver hold office, back a ways people didnt think so. Time is an issue and if you drive you don"t have time. Good luck candidates
