clarification on slammer points etc...
As we had saw on johns website, there has been some concern as to whats the deal with the points and how can points be changed. For everyone to know we did not decide at the last race we would have the points relooked at. After the first actual slammer night, when the points came out it was noted the points were wrong. We had asked beaks to look into it, and well never got done. The night a driver got points for not finishing we also questioned that as well. Im sorry but the ball was dropped from day one by the board. We were then told to submit in writing our concerns after the last race, if this was the case how come nothing about a letter was ever mentioned the times we asked to have the tapes looked at. We only wanted what was right, believe you me, we are not the only ones that would have asked to have things reviewed it was not done out of spite, just piece of mind. But in case of a tie one would think the board would want to review the past tapes before anouncing a track champion, before it has been made offical and something like this happends when there were alread questions about previous nights. Yes both drivers raced there hearts out and deserve it very much. It has been a crazy year for all divisions maybe this will help for next year if something like this were to happen again. Due to this ordeal this has caused unneccessary fricksion between two fellow racers and friends, which all could have been prevented if the problem would have been addressed when it was brought to the attention of the board. Respectfully submitted. Heres to the race season of 2010!

Re: clarification on slammer points etc...
I am not speaking for Gary but for myself. I personally know that Gary was not notified by another board member that there was any indescretion about points at any time during the season, but was notified by John Mattia in writing after the season had ended. Gary did his best to try and get clarification about this from Beaks and Bruce, both of which he had spoken to directly or via email messages as to have a paper trail. Gary did what he could as to have this looked into and tapes and points evaluated but, once again 1 board member that tried to stay on focus and adhere to the rules was shot down time after time after time.
So, lets not lay blame on the whole board but on the individuals that are actually responsible for that aspect of the club, each one is assigned a job and is expected to follow through on their designated responsibility.
When other board members are kept in the dark and not "privy" to all the closed session meetings via telephone it's really hard to consider it a properly functioning board.

Re: clarification on slammer points etc...
Very well said. Especially the last part - the board should communicate better and not hold private meetings. This message was not directly towards him personally. We know that his request for other members of the board to look into this issue earlier in the season, fell on deaf ears. Thank you Gary for all you tried to do. It was greatly appreciated.
