WIR Last night
It was nice to be able to go and watch a race without having the radio on the head and people screaming all the time..... That aside it was a great night for racing. Saw alot of people from Norway there.... Mark Maraska and his wife, Tim Schultz Sr. was a few rows behind me and Timmy Jr. stopped by for a few minutes. As we were walking in was in the next row to WIR and Norway local Caleb Fulcher, also so Tom Gee in passing on the way to the rest room.....
To top the night off I saw and talked with Norways favorite Bobby Nordel..... Was a good turnout for Da YOOPERS we gave the Wisconsin people a good run for their money when the announcer was asking us to cheer where we are from....

Re: WIT Last night
It seemed last night race was good and kyle bush putting on a great show for the fans to watch, but I can't believe that he got around our 2003/2004 track champions, Kris Kelly (03 and 04) and jamie iverson (02/05/06). Kyle just had a leg up on Jamie and Kris, but good job to Kris and Jamie.
Thanks-
Bobby Nordell # 29

Re: WIT Last night
It was also interesting to see the ASA group let Kyle put a different tire on the right rear last night after the 75 lap break. Officials told him if he does it, he will go 2 laps down. The 51 crew came back and said if you do that, we will load it up now. Guess we see who won in more than one way last night! Oh to be a "celebrity" and get what you want.

Re: WIT Last night
That is interesting, I did notice that it took him a while to get out of the pits. (possibly arguing about the tire?). I hope that it is not true, because if it is true it will bite them in the a** down the road, rules should be the same for everybody.

Re: WIR Last night
Any one that would like to talk about the Busch deal I will be at Norway Friday night
you can talk to me there. Yes there was a tire change. Yes the other tire was flat. No the new tire the crew chief wanted to use was not allowed. Yes it took us some time to solve the problem at hand.
Like I said please take the time to see me at the track or at our next race at Raceway Park.
I hate BS and stuff like this only makes racing in general look bad. I will take the time to answer your questions live and face to face. Just like I did with Mr Busch and his crew chief Richie Wauters. Hopefully with out as much screaming.
The real funny part of the whole deal is the other Nascar star that wanted to change a tire finished 4th and after the race told me that when I told him the tire looked fine to me he said that was all he needed. Some of the stars we have worked with in the past shine at times also. Thanx Mr Schrader. You are always welcome to race any race with our series! And it is a pleasure to work with someone like you!
lumpy ASAMWT Tech Director
see ya at the track!

Re: WIR Last night
The following are my comments and opinion of the race. These comments are mine and are a review after watching 2 new series race.
Some "After race Tidbits"
Very impressive show, first class effort all around. Joe Verdegan is the man to have as an announcer, he knows the racers and knows what the fans want to hear! He doesn't stand behind a computer, he announces from outside the tower and knows all the information off the top of his head!
Some cars were missing:
Rod Wheeler
Brad Mueller (Told me last week hew as coming)
Jim Duchow (Full Time Follower)
Lowell Bennett (Was on his schedule)
NEVER saw that many cars start the feature... I thought they were freaking out of their mind!
Motors.....boy they puffed a number of them last night.
Nice to see officials taking the reins and running the show. When they needed a push truck, they ordered it and wanted it there now. When the push truck never came, the officials were on the radio sternly ordering it here NOW, no playing games!
Was very impressed with the side by side racing and the passing on the outside. Did the Goodyear tires lay down some rubber up high?
The Andy Monday/Jeff Van Oudenhoven deal was a tough one to swallow. Man those two impressed the hell out of me, very fast and very clean! It sure looked as though Jeff Fredrickson caused that whole deal. Fredrickson was leading going down the back straight, heading into turn 3 Fredrickson lifted big time and let Kyle Busch slide in under him, Fredrickson tried to come down, but Van Oudenhoven was already under him.
Either way the call was made.....is a Black Flag worthless now? Two times in one week where someone is black flagged and they keep riding around?!?!?
The half way break was different, but the 10 minutes was not completely enforced. There were guys lined up with a number of minutes left and there were others that were sitting in the pits while the field was on the track.
As far as Kyle Busch getting a new tire, obviously someone from the series was involved, all tires in this series are Barcoded and recorded via computer.
Only downfall of the night... kind of a late night....darn near midnight when all was said and done.
Ron Hornaday Jr how unprofessional, he spins out on his own and Meidam has no where to go and hits him. John Meidam is heading for the pit area and Hornaday cuts him off and locks the brakes up. Creating alot of unnessary work for the Bud Boys before tomorrow.
*******************Big 8 Cars *************
Very impressive, first time seeing this series. Liked how they kept the pace car on the track, slowed down to 45 mph and when the field got the 1 to go the hazard lights were turned off. The field had to maintain that speed until the green flew.
Goodyear tires sure seemed to hold up weel, no real wrecks and it seemed like the guys had better control of the car.

Re: WIR Last night
Corey, keep in mind the Big 8 cars probably weighed about 2850-2900 lbs. The extra weight can only help to build up heat in the tires quicker. Was it because of the Goodyears? I have raced on both with my LM, and prefer the Hoosiers over the Goodyears.

Re: WIR Last night
They seemed to really howl around the corners and looked like they lacked 4 wheel grip... They appeared to be too hard??
Not sure... I ran on them once at Marshfield and didn't like them... Not sure if these are the same, but by all the howling, it sounded like they lacked grip??
Maybe the cars are too heavy and go beyond the grip yield of the tires.... Maybe lightening the cars would help grip??
Any thoughts??
