Re: WIR Last night

What is that going to do? Yes, it will keep the cars spread out, but guys still can spin out on thier own.

John, you need to get down there for a race this year now that they have double file restarts. As a fan the past few years I didn't care to go to the races because of the single file restart. With the double file this year, it has been a lot better from a fans perspective.

I LOVE the double file as a racer... It was great at Norway for years and I was REALLY happy to hear they wanted to go to it at WIR this year...

Pick a lane RULES!!!

Fans like it too... emoticon

Very impressive show, first class effort all around. Joe Verdegan is the man to have as an announcer, he knows the racers and knows what the fans want to hear!

Some cars were missing:
Rod Wheeler

NEVER saw that many cars start the feature... I thought they were freaking out of their mind!

*******************Big 8 Cars *************

Very impressive, first time seeing this series. Liked how they kept the pace car on the track, slowed down to 45 mph and when the field got the 1 to go the hazard lights were turned off. The field had to maintain that speed until the green flew.

Goodyear tires sure seemed to hold up weel, no real wrecks and it seemed like the guys had better control of the car.

Corey I picked a couple great points to respond too...

Joe V. Did a great job and I heard from several fans I was sitting around how this was the first time all year they could hear from the same speaker that they sit by all year. He knows his stuff and kept the fans well informed of both the local and touring guys. Another refreshing part was listening to Matt Panure(sp) announce the Big 8 Cars, he did an awesome job also.

I talked with Keith K. in the stands and he stated that Rod's motor was in pieces and they didn't have a motor to race with, hence him not being there.

The number of car's starting the feature(36) was impressive and its an attestement to the ability and respect for the the drivers and by the drivers on the track.

The Big 8 cars are very similiar to our LLM's its amazing how they didn't wreck like the normal Thursday night guys... As for the Goodyears, I know down in turn's one and two you could hear them "howling".

All in All it was an awesome show that I can't wait for it to return next year!
