Sharing files

How does one share files between two different computers. Is it as simple as sending the saved worksheet?

Re: Sharing files

Well, there are always many possibilities when it comes to sharing files, and it's nothing specific to RailModeller..
Some easy approaches that come to mind are

- sharing a folder between two machines
- transferring files via an USB stick between machines
- sending files back and forth two accounts via email

But it really depends on lots of things like your specific setup, personal Mac OS skills, how often you want to transfer the files between both machines, and how convenient the solution should be.

What I really meant was can a worksheet saved on one computer be read by RailModeller on a different computer? In other words if I send someone a worksheet will they be able to open it? The worksheet files don't have any extension so how does RailModeller identify it's files?

That should be no problem.

All of the aforementioned approaches can be used to transfer worksheets between two (or more..) Macs.
You might want to create a ZIP archive of the worksheet before transferring it to be on the safe side.

On the other Mac just open the file using RailModeller as usual.
Since we're not on a Windows OS no file extensions are required.

I tried that and when I try to open it with the other Mac, it won't open it. When I force it using 'Open With' I get the error 'The File has the wrong type (0)'.

I see - did you create a ZIP archive of the file in the Finder ('Create archive..') before?
This should help in cases where file information is somehow lost during the transfer.
