Connect with Flex track Bug
There might be a bug in the connect with flex track. When I choose connect with flex but then I don't select the end of a rail piece, either miss the end or try to exit because I don't want to add flex, the routine hangs Railmodeller and I can't do much else. I can't save, exit, escape. It seems to hang in the last add track and wherever I mouse click on the screen a new piece of track is added. Keyboard presses give me an error sound.
Force quit gets me out but I have lost my work, and force quit does not show the program as not responding.
Using the latest version with Leopard

Re: Connect with Flex track Bug
Hmm, I can't reproduce the problem - clicking somewhere in the worksheet in either stage cancels the Connect with Flex function and goes back to normal operation.
Since there are several ways to use Connect with Flex, let's make sure that the error occurs when
- Choosing Arrange > Connect With Flextrack from the menu
- Next clicking somewhere in the worksheet but NOT on any free end of a track
(indicated by mouse cursor with 4 arrows)
Is this correct?
Also, what does the message in the toolbar say when the GUI locks up?
It might indicate if the program is still waiting for some action by the user.

Re: Connect with Flex track Bug
I will have to watch and get back to you with the message bar. Going in fresh I get no errors, as you find. When I got them the other night, I had been working in the program for a couple of hours, so maybe I was doing something intense that confused either RailModeller or me. Lots of adding, deleting, re-arranging, grouping, un-grouping etc.
Yes, I was using the menu selection as you describe.
And by the way, thanks for this great track planner. It is certainly getting my layout up and into the building stage rapidly.

Re: Connect with Flex track Bug
Okay, I could now reproduce the bug - accidentally, but anyway.
It'll be fixed in the next release.
In the meantime, if anybody stumbles across this rare situation and the user interface pretty much locks up:
You should still be able to quit the application from the outside.
(via AppleEvents, for the technically inclined..)
Just quit the application e.g. from the Dock by clicking on the RailModeller application icon and chosing 'Quit' and RailModeller will ask you to save any unsaved changes as usual before quitting, so nothing will be lost.
