Brock Lesnar filed a lawsuit against WWE earlier today.
There had been talk that he was going to file the suit this week but it was never confirmed. Some talk going around is that he was claiming they were preventing him from making a living due to his no compete cause on his contract.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to several sources, Brock Lesnar's lawsuit filed against WWE today states that they are preventing him from wrestling, which he considers his main career. He signed a no compete clause last year following WrestleMania after he opted out of his contract due to the tough travel.
After leaving WWE, Lesnar made the practice squad for Minnesota Vikings. That quickly soured and there has been no contact between the two since the season began.
We're told that his no compete clause that he signed prevents him from working for any competitor or anything related to wrestling. (i.e. UFC, Pride). We're told that, and this is a legit date, his no compete cause ends on June 30, 2010. WWE's no compete clause includes all countries outside the US as well.
This is going to be one to follow.
Facts and opinions about Lesnar's lawsuit

Here are just some random notes on the Brock Lesnar lawsuit story just to catch some of you up:
Lesnar's lawsuit is defined as a restraint of trade lawsuit.
The suit was actually filed on 2/4.
At the time of Lesnar leaving WWE, they asked him to sign a 6 year no compete clause which he agreed to and signed.
The clause he signed prevented him "from appearing, participating in or associating with any professional wrestling, ultimate fighting or any sports entertainment enterprise through June 30, 2010."
WWE's head legal counsel Jerry McDevitt said WWE will fight the suit.
To break it down for you, Brock Lesnar wanted to leave WWE to pursue the NFL after WrestleMania last year. In the back of his head, he really thought he had a legit chance and was going to make it. He had been told by friends and people within the Vikings camp that he had a heck of a shot. At the time, it sounded like a great idea and he went ahead and signed the no compete clause, obviously not realizing at the time his NFL dreams wouldn't come true. It's VERY clear when a wrestler is released or leaves the company that when they sign on the dotted line, it's final. Lesnar was well aware of what he was signing and didn't think it would hurt him because he wasn't thinking about ever returning to wrestling. In the last several months, Lesnar has been calling the WWE offices looking for work. His calls were 'ignored/put aside' at first but have since been answered by people other then Vince McMahon. We're told his travel and money demands were just ridiculous and a deal was not reached. It appears Lesnar is now taking it one step further and pursuing a lawsuit so he can return to the wrestling business'. I guess it all depends on how you look at it, but from my standpoint, the guy signed the dotted line, knew what he was signing, and chose to ignore it to pursue something that didn't work out. Now, he's screwed and wants to take back his no compete clause. The guy also walked out on a number of guys in the business, especially after getting three world title reigns while with the company. It's a big game. Lesnar wants to work for someone other than WWE to 'get them thinking' while WWE doesn't want Lesnar working elsewhere and legally, with a signed piece of paper, they don't have to. Lesnar apparently thinks otherwise.

Re: Brock Lesnar filed a lawsuit against WWE earlier today.
The way I see it, is that Lesner was at his prime when he left WWE. He thought the grass was greener on the other side and while it wasn't. Or could it be he is running out of money with his divorce and turning around and marrying Sable? It really doesn't matter. He signed a document that prohibts him from working for other wrestling venues.
I don't think there was a gun to his head to make him sign. So, his wittle football career is actually flop since they didn't get a hold of him. You know Sable as been around wrestling for years and she knows the in and outs of the business and you mean to tell me she let him sign it without telling him what it was about?
Good going Sable! That was smart of ya. Come on people, you want me to believe that Sable is that stupid? The question here is what was in Sables contract and did she have to sign the same thing when she left?
Lets face it WWE spent a lot of money on Lesnar so why should he get to work anywhere else but WWE? What the wittle whinny baby thinks he has to start all over from the bottom of the barrel again? Well, I hope so, maybe that will teach him a thing or two about the business.
And didn't anyone ever tell him not to sign anything without his lawyer looking it over? Now, come on, can we all say 'STUDPID." And now he wants to wrestle again but not for WWE who gave him the title shot and spent millions on promoting him.
Well, if the idoit was smart he would do like all the rest of the wrestlers and change his gimmick name. In WWF we had Hulk Hogan in WCW we had Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Sheesh, do people have to spell it out for him expecially fans.
Now, how stupid can one be?

From the sound of it seems to me that he is just mad because WWE wouldn't agree to his ridiculous salary demands.
And I agree about his stupidity of signing a no compete clause.

Re: Brock Lesnar filed a lawsuit against WWE earlier today.
Anytime someone in a sports occupation wants to be released early from a contract they have to sign a No Compete clause. Brock was so sure he'd get on a football team he wasn't worried about it and signed. Now that reality has slapped him in the face he wants out of that clause.
He has been contacting WWE wanting to come back. However he wants a reduced schedule like 'Taker has, but apparently he's wanting 'full time pay'. WWE is saying hell no. Vince won't even talk to him. Another reality slap for Lensar.
I'll be surprised if a judge doesn't partially let Lensar out of the No Compete clause. He'll probably shorten the time frame and also let Lensar work in some other countries in the mean time. But I have no doubt the bulk of the clause will be upheld. Lensar is basically screwed. Good. It'll be yet another badly needed reality slap for him.
LOLA!!! Can you tell I don't like Lensar?

lol no i couldnt tell a bit. I always liked him. But I think that people were put off from him because he got everything so soon. Things those other wrestlers had worked a lifetime to achieve. I can fully understand a lot of people's disdain for him.
