ACWA Results - June 25, 2005

On Saturday, June 25th, the ACWA tore the roof off the pavilion at Outdoor World Sea Pines in Swainton, New Jersey. We here at the ACWA would like to thank the fans and staff that were there that night in full support of our show. The show featured the ACWA Tough Man Tournament and an ACWA Heavyweight Title Match as the Main Event.

Machine #2 defeated Warpath(1st Round of the Toughman Tournament)

Warpath took on newcomer Machine #2 (1/2 of the newest tag team, the Machines). The match started out with Machine #2 just pounding on Warpath, trying to take him out early. Warpath fought back and nearly overcame this massive man, but fell short when Machine #2 resorted to pulling of the tights to secure the victory and move on to the 3-way Dance Tournament Finals.

Machine #1 defeated Penniwize (1st round of the Toughman Tournament)

The Evil Court Jester Penniwize battled the other half of the Machines in Machine #1. Machine #1 showed no mercy in the ring. Penniwize’s ties with the Darkness didn’t seem to intimidate Machine #1. Penniwize held an early advantage and took Machine #1 down to the mat, but Machine #1 found a way to power out of Penniwize’s offense. After dropping a crushing headbutt to the chest of Penniwize, Machine #1 made Penniwize tap out with the Boston Crab, advancing to the finals of the Toughman Tournament along with Machine #2.

The Orphan defeated Kuvatro (1st round of the Toughman Tournament)

The Orphan had a tall task ahead of him going into this match, being that he knew nothing of his opponent, Kuvatro. Only a word like demonic could describe Kuvatro. As of late The Orphan has had his troubles with Vik Voorhees and was determined to show Kuvatro he was the dominant “big man” in the ACWA. Kuvatro and The Orphan traded blows early on, but Kuvatro took control after resorting to choking and raking of the eyes. Being the newest member of the Darkness, those tactics weren’t too much of a stretch in the fans’ minds. Even after several warnings, Kuvatro kept the onslaught on, but in the end, despite the beating he suffered, The Orphan emerged with power and force and overcame Kuvatro, advancing to the finals along with both members of the Machines.

The Orphan defeated The Machines (3-way Dance Single Elimination Finals)

The rules were simple for this match. It was single elimination until one competitor remained. Elimination occurred by pin, submission, DQ or count-out. With their dominance in the first round, the Machines knew going in they wanted to take out the Orphan early. The Orphan was slightly injured going into the match after suffering the beating from Kuvatro. The match started out with The Orphan firing off with fists of fury on both Machines, but it proved to be all for naught as they stopped that offense cold and the beating ensued. During most of the match, either Machine#1 or Machine #2 would distract the ref and the other one would take liberties on the Orphan with any cheating they could get away with. This went on for most of the match and things looked bleak for the Orphan, but Orphan soon began to fight his way back into the match. After sending Machine #2 to the outside, he took Machine #1 to the mat time after time and finished him off with the Reverse DDT, eliminating Machine #1 from the match. Machine #2 got back in the ring and began once again lowering the boom on The Orphan and the plan then came to fruition. With the ref out of it for the time being, Machine #1 entered the ring with the Japanese Flag, but at the last second The Orphan ducked and Machine #1 took down his own partner with the flagstick. The Orphan sent Machine #1 to the outside and pinned Machine #2 for the victory, and was crowned the ACWA’s Toughest Man. After the match, the Machines began beating on the Orphan again, but the Orphan ducked the double clothesline and knocked both Machines with a double clothesline of his own on his way to celebrating his victory.

“Sure Thing” Ryan Wing defeated “The American Rock Star” CJ Summers

This was by far the most anticipated match of the night, and the crowd was electric. With the history of these two men and the battles they’ve had in the past, this match seemingly brought it all to the forefront. Ryan Wing took time getting ready for the match, whereas CJ was fired up and ready to prove to Ryan Wing that he was ready to fight. Wing spent a good portion of the match berating the fans while punishing CJ. CJ was able to turn the tide early on with his mat skills and aerial moves. It didn’t take long for Wing to resort to cheating to stop any offense CJ came up with in the match. Wing attempted several pinning attempts but only got a 2-count. He then grabbed the belt looking to nail CJ, but CJ ducked it and knocked Wing to the mat. With CJ looking to clean Wing’s clock with a crescent kick, he accidentally hit the ref, knocking him out. Wing then turned around and hit CJ with his own crescent kick, sending the champion down. But without a ref there was no count. Wing then used the belt on CJ, pinned him and only got a 2-count. CJ then gave Wing a taste of his own medicine and gave him a DDT on the belt. As Wing rolled to the outside of the ring, CJ tried to revive the ref. He then ran to get Wing, but Wing clocked him in the head with the belt knocking him out, and then pinned CJ to become the NEW ACWA Heavyweight Champion. One question remains: what will happen at ACWA American Revolution on July 9th? Keep your eyes peeled right here to acwawrestling.com
