Melrose Place season 1 recaps
From Zap2it - Andrea Reiher
Who killed Laura Palmer? Who killed Lilly Kane? Tonight "Melrose Place" asks,"Who killed Sydney Andrews?"
Most weeks the recap format will be a more chronological discussion of the episode, but I thought for tonight we'd do a character/actor-driven recap so we can all make sure we're on the same page in terms of who everyone is.
Character: Sydney Andrews
Quite the drama queen of the original "Melrose Place," Sydney is back for the redux... for about 10 minutes, then we find her stabbed to death and floating in the swimming pool. Luckily, I hear her murder will be solved through a series of flashbacks so I think we'll see a lot more of actress Laura Leighton. Also, for those of you who thought she was dead the first time, it turns out Dr. Michael Mancini (her lover, one-time brother-in-law, and father to her former lover David Breck) helped her fake her death in the original. Nice ret-con, show.
Where you know her from: The original MP, duh. But also a six-episode arc on the original "90210."
Did you know? Leighton was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe in 1995 for "Melrose Place" and she's from Iowa City, Iowa. Go Hawkeyes!
Character: Dr. Michael Mancini
Apparently, he helped Sydney fake her death the first time around and now his illegitimate progeny David used to sleep with her. Like father, like son, eh? It's unclear how much Dr. Michael Mancini will be around in the present on the show or whether he'll be more a part of the flashbacks. He's a "happily" married man right now but Sydney threatened to tell his wife about their affair before she was killed.
Where you know him from: The original and, well... that's about it for actor Thomas Calabro.
Did you know? Calabro was the only cast member from the original to stay on the show all 7 seasons. He also directed 4 episodes.
Character: David Breck
The aforementioned bastard son of Mancini, David is one of the new tenants of MP. He also had an affair with Sydney, but it appears to have ended before the show started. The night Sydney dies, she texts him that she's in serious trouble and he goes to see her, but she seems to be fine. The next day, he can't remember a thing after that, so Ella Simms says he was with her all night to give him an alibi. Also, he appears to be a thief since I believe we saw him stealing a painting during the ending musical montage.
Where you know him from: "Complete Savages," a show I don't remember, and "Shark," the brief James Woods lawyer program.
Did you know? He's Canadian! (There isn't much out there on dear Shaun.)
Character: Ella Simms
This version's Amanda Woodward, she's the resident evil *****. Except I liked her right off the bat and hope she crushes breaks up Riley and Jonah and keeps the pieces for herself. She's a high-powered publicist who is secretly in love with friend Jonah and provided an alibi for David because she just knows he isn't a killer. Does that mean that SHE is? Sydney pretty much made Ella the woman she is today and when Ella ratted to David that Sydney used to be involved with his father and was only sleeping with David to get back at Michael, Sydney swore she'd ruin Ella. Dun dun dun! She also appears to swing both ways. Woo woo.
Where you know her from: "Harper's Island" and "Supernatural" and apparently the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street," due out in 2010.
Did you know? She is David Cassidy's daughter, making Shaun Cassidy her uncle and Shirley Jones her grandmother. Wild.
Character: Riley Richmond
She seems like the resident good girl. She gets proposed to within the first 10 minutes and doesn't say yes because she's worried her boyfriend isn't grown-up enough. I hope Ella makes her cry. A lot. Also because I don't like the actress, Jessica Lucas.
Where you know her from: "Edgemont," a show I don't remember, and "90210." She was the 21 Jump St. girl who slept with Mr. Mathews.
Did you know? She's Haitian and Pakistani (not much on her either).
Character: Jonah Miller
Filmmaker wannabe, Jonah is buddies with Ella and seems to at least suspect that she likes him. He proposes to girlfriend Riley and when she doesn't say yes, he almost agrees to basically be bought by a rich producer when he (Jonah) spies the producer macking on his daughter's best friend. In the end, Jonah won't sell out (because he's part of the "good" couple) and he and Riley get engaged because she's just SO proud of him for standing by his convictions and they smooch and make me barf.
Where you know him from: Actor Michael Rady was on "Greek," "Swingtown" and romanced Alexis Bledel in the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" movies.
Did you know? He's 6'0 tall. He doesn't look that tall.
Character: Auggie Kirkpatrick
With a name like that, I'm surprised he doesn't have an Irish accent. We dont' learn too much about Auggie in the pilot, only that he met Sydney four years ago at an AA meeting and she's the one who convinced him to get cleaned up and become a chef, which he now is. He also turns down new-girl Violet's offer at "getting coffee" and goes off to burn a bloody shirt. DUN DUN DUN.
Where you know him from: Colin Egglesfield schemed in Pine Valley for 4 years on "All My Children."
Did you know? Colin checks in as the oldest new cast member at a whopping 36 years of age. Thank god he isn't playing a student at West Bev, but I wouldn't put it past the creators.
Character: Violet Foster
New girl in the complex discovers Sydney's body (suspicious) and also makes some veiled references to med student Lauren about how boring it is to be a "good girl." Hmmm. She also gets shot down by Auggie. Maybe he'll turn up dead next! At the end of the episode, Violet steals Sydney's picture from the memorial. Anybody think she's more involved than has been shown? My money is that she's Sydney's daughter because Ashlee Simpson as a red-head could pass for that.
Where you know her from? Being Jessica Simpson's sister, being married to Pete Wentz, "singing," and that lip-syncing incident on "Saturday Night Live."
Did you know? At age 11, Ashlee Simpson was the youngest person ever admitted to the School of American Ballet.
Character: Lauren Yung
A med student, Lauren's father gets laid off and can no longer pay her tuition. What does Lauren do to supplement her income? Start having sex for money. Natch. Her first conquest is an excellent guest-star in the form of skeezy Adam Kaufman (worst-episode-of-Buffy-ever-Parker and Veronica-Mars-possibly-abusive-neighbor-Andre).
Where you know her from: "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"
Did you know? She's Chinese, Norwegian, Portuguese and English and was raised in Australia. Neat.
Thoughts & Tidbits
* I have to say, I like a little murder mystery with my soapy drama. The first MP took awhile to find its footing, so I like that this one has jumped in with both feet. The mystery will keep me interested every week, so I hope the writers have a good plot outlined for that. I also hope if this show gets renewed that they keep the formula for next season.
* I can't wait to see more old MP faces like Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga. Bring on Heather Locklear and Courtney Thorne-Smith!
* I much prefer watching actual 20-somethings (and Auggie) be conniving 20-somethings to watching actual 20-somethings be West Bev high school students behaving ridiculously.

Re: Melrose Place season 1 recaps
Zap2it By Andrea Reiher
Tonight on "Melrose Place," we won't be rid of Ashlee Simpson-Wentz just yet, as her character Violet is Sydney's daughter.
Jonah & Riley
Riley and Jonah stay home all day to celebrate their engagement. Bomp chicka wow-wow. Unfortunately they are interrupted by Awesome Ella, who wants Jonah to hang a security camera in the courtyard.
This creates the Dull Couple Tension of the Week when he spies her comforting Auggie on the video. They fight. It's lame. They also spy Violet floating face-down in the pool at 2:00 am, very creepy.
J & R make up (of course) and make me want to barf as much as season one Andrew Shue (yes, Andrew. Not Matthew. I'm a doofus.) and Courtney Thorne-Smith.
David & Ella
Ella finds out there are major layoffs at her firm by the new VP Caleb. He wants to fire her but she convinces him to give her the weekend to land some hot-shot star named Jasper Barnes. I love Ella.
Meanwhile, David is selling not only his stolen art to a dealer for some quick cash but promises to deliver a fancy-schmancy watch that he's going to steal a party the next night. Ella wants to go with David to said party because Jasper Barnes is goign to be there and he balks until Ella reminds him that she's his alibi for Sydney's untimely demise. Pwned.
They show up at the party together, with Ella looking HOT in a white backless dress and white thigh-high boots. I still prefer Katie Cassidy as a brunette, but she's hot either way. Before she can find Jasper Barnes, though, she runs into Lauren with Rick. DUN DUN DUN.
Ella finds Jasper, though, and wins him over with her cheeky talk and ideas about his overexposure. He basically says if she sleeps with him, he's all hers, so she takes him outside, gets him to drop his pants and takes a picture of his penis. She uses that to teach him some lessons about publicity and then deletes the picture. SO SMOOTH.
Ella finds David and they jump (without much transition at all) into how David grew up poor in a trailer park until he met his dad. That was weird.
Ella heads to work and VP Caleb says he signed Jasper Barnes at Trudy's party because of the whole gay thing, BUT... Jasper wants Ella as his point person. Well done, Ella.
Lauren the Prostitute
Toby (aka Andre or Parker Abrams) hooks Lauren up with more clients before he leaves town. She acts like she won't have sex for money again, but we all know differently. Ella inadvertently pep talks Lauren into doing whatever she has to do to get that MD so she calls Toby's friend Rick.
They run into Ella and David at the fancy party but manage to cover and leave later to have sex. Rick talks about having a connection and seeing each other for real and she acts all standoffish and distant and demands her money. Is it for real? Or is she protecting herself from getting hurt? I suspect the latter.
Violet & Auggie
Auggie has what appears to be a stab wound on his back left shoulder. Hmmm. He hooks Violet up with a hostess gig at Cole, the restaurant where he works (after Ella hooks Violet up with some hipper, sexier clothes).
Auggie is questioned by the police about Sydney and we see via flashback how they met in AA. And ended up sleeping together shortly thereafter. Man, if she slept with Jonah she's got the MP Trifecta. Anyway, he confesses to Sydney that his former girlfriend was killed because of him. Auggie started a fight with a guy at a bar and Danine got stabbed and bled out right in front of him. Sydney helps him stay sober but breaks off the relationship so they can take the 12 steps seriously.
The detectives come at Auggie for stabbing a guy to death the night his girlfriend was killed. We find out via flashback that the night of her murder, Sydney was doing massive amounts of coke after David passed out. Auggie says he had to cut the cord once Sydney got back together with Michael Mancini. Sydney says some harsh things to Auggie about his girlfriend's blood on his hands and stabs him in the shoulder during a struggle. Hmmm.
Pool Party
At the end of the episode, all the MPers hang out at a pool-side BBQ and it's all awesome. Until we find out that Violet is Sydney's daughter. DUN DUN DUN. Also: I KNEW IT! The Dutch girl picked me! Not you, me! Holland loves Chandler, thank you Amsterdam, good night!
Except... Sydney says she never had a baby. Hmmmm.... I'll keep tuning in.

Re: Melrose Place season 1 recaps
From Zap2it By Andrea Reiher
Tonight on "Melrose Place," it turns out Dr. Michael Mancini is keeping tabs on ALL the MPers, new and old.
Jonah & Riley, the Most Boring Couple on the Planet
Jonah gets his feelings hurt that Riley didn't tell all her friends and family that she's engaged. Wow, compelling stuff. Though just for the record, Jonah is totally right and Riley sucks. She should just sleep with Auggie and make this couple 100x more interesting. Also, then Jonah can leave her for Awesome Ella.
Riley goes to see Auggie at work for advice about making things up to Jonah and they flirt and make eyes at each other. He advises she make him filet mignon, then utters the worst line EVER as he says, "Relationships are complicated. Cooking comes with instructions." Hwah. (That's the sound of me barfing.)
When Riley can't get Jonah away from work for her special dinner, she confesses to Auggie that she hasn't told anyone about the engagement yet. He pours her a glass of wine and they make more googly eyes. Later, Riley's all drunky-drunky and says she doesn't know how she feels and Auggie tells her she DOES know but she's scared and they kiss. FINALLY! Something interesting! But Riley plays it off as being drunk. Lame, Riley.
When Jonah comes home, Riley apologizes. She claims her issues are that she's only dated 3 guys and she doesn't know what she's doing and he's intimidating and she wants to dive in with him. Ugh. He then a drops a big "no more secrets" anvil and she looks guilty.
Ella the Awesome
A director client goes all cuckoo and Ella grabs Jonah to direct the music video that said cuckoopants was supposed to direct. The artist, Boomkat, is a total diva and Jonah tries to storm off. Uhhh, way to work hard at your big break there, dude. Ella talks him down off the ledge and tells him she believes in him. If they don't sleep together for November sweeps, I'm going to be annoyed.
Jonah, of course, completely changes the weirdo director's ideas and gets all creative artist and awesome. Ella freaks but trusts him. Um, are the words to this song, "We are all just human beings, across the ocean, overseas." Perfectly banal lyrics for a pop song. Awesome.
Later, Ella's boss says cuckoo director is putting HIS name on Jonah's video. Ella doesn't want to, but goes along with it. Booo, Ella. When she tells Jonah, he's pissed but thanks her for fighting for him, which isn't exaaaactly how it went down.
Lauren the Prostitute
Lauren hears suspicious sounds coming from Sydney's apartment. When she investigates, she... isn't very thorough because shes DOESN'T find Crazy Violet hiding in the closet (and possibly in the middle of trying on Sydney's clothes).
It turns out she's up for a spot on Dr. Michael Mancini's intern team at the hospital. When she introduces herself to him, we get a flashback to Sydney coming to see Michael after she faked her death and got out of prison (6 years for faking your death? Wow). She wanted to get back together.
At Lauren's interview, her lack of tuition payments comes up. Mancini blows her off because he's worried she'll get kicked out and he'll have to get a new intern. She then innocently spills the beans that David was in his office. So Michael breaks into David's apartment. Apple, tree, not far. Michael thinks David accusing him takes the spotlight off himself and vows to find out everything about David. He also knows David stole that painting from him.
On his way out, he looks at the pool and we flashback to a conversation he had with Sydney where she blackmails him to get back together. Later, Michael puts Lauren on his intern team. Obviously to keep an eye on David.
Violet the Crazy Girl
She bonds with Riley over a dress she needs help zipping up. Did she steal that from Sydney's closet? Mmm hmmm. Flashback to her arrival at the apartment, when Sydney had the dress on. Violet is wearing the dress for "some guy from work" (coughAuggiecough).
At work, Violet makes her play for Auggie by giving him $200 sunglasses. He pushes her off and she says, "No big deal" while sporting some big ol' crazy eyes. And that's our Ashlee Simpson for the week!
David the Thief
David goes to see Michael, confronting him about killing Sydney. Michael claims to David that he didn't help her fake Sydney's death and she "did her time" for it. David sets out to prove that Michael killed her.
Lauren finds David snooping in his dad's office at the hospital but shrugs it off and asks David to help her get a spot on Mancini's team. Later, it turns out David hacked into his dad's computer and now has remote access. And Michael has files on EVERYONE. Jane, Jo, Allison, Amanda, David, Ella, etc etc. Why has he gone all Veronica Mars on the MPers? We don't know yet!
You know... I don't love this show, but Sydney's murder will keep me tuning in. Next week... JOSIE BISSETT IS BACK!!!

Re: Melrose Place season 1 recaps
From Zap2it By Andrea Reiher
Jane, Ella & Violet
Jane Andrews is back as the new landlord and she blackmails Ella into getting one of her clients, Abby Douglas, to wear one of her dresses to a movie premiere. Apparently, Ella sent some threatening emails to Sydney and Jane has them. She'll only keep them away from the police if Ella puts a Jane Andrews dress on Abby. In fact, she wants to be partners with Ella to dress Abby many times over.
Meanwhile, Violet is questioned by the police and bolts out the window, then shows up at Jane's store asking for help and playing the "you're the only family I have" card. Fortunately, Jane didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, so she calls the police on wide-eyed Violet, who ends up in jail.
Violet is questioned because a lanyard with her prints was found at the crime scene. Violet spills to them that she is Sydney's daughter but says that Sydney was delighted and that getting to know her was the best week of her life. The police can smell what Violet is shoveling.
At the premiere, Abby freaks about Jane's dress and demands to wear a different dress. Ella acquiesces and gets her something else to wear. Jane sneers, "I hope it was worth it." When Ella tells David what happened, he says he'll take Jane down for her. Ella is touched and/or turned on and they make with the smoochies.
EXCEPT... the next day Jane calls the police on Ella. DUN DUN DUN!
David & Auggie
David has a tail, courtesy of his father, and gets hired to waiter at the "Kensington Squared" premiere party because Auggie vouches for him. Of course, the tail shows up and David throws him across the room, landing Auggie in hot water with his boss.
After vowing to take down Jane for Ella, David confronts Jane with Michael Mancini's files about her "store fire," which was really for the insurance money. He tells her to stay away from Ella. However, Auggie's shot at a promotion is shot after David's little stunt. Bummer.
Jonah & Riley
They head to the "Kensington Squared" premiere because the writer was Jonah's film school roommate. At the party, Riley chats up a big-time producer and then hands him off to Jonah because she has to go bail Violet out of jail.
When Jonah gets home he tells Riley that the big-time producer, Charlie Kitsis, was totally charmed by Riley and wants to see Jonah's movie. Except Violet is showering in their apartment and Riley put up the bond for her release from jail, which Jonah is NOT happy about. Riley spins a tale of Violet being Sydney's daughter, their "joyful" reunion and Violet finding her dead. Jonah is suspicious and when Violet overhears, she implies that her adopted parents were sexually abusive and that she ran from the police because she stole money from them so she could escape and find Sydney. Riley is taken in, Jonah is not. Because Jonah rocks and Riley sucks.
Lauren
Toby's back in town so Lauren goes to meet him, but when his flight gets delayed she finds another source of income named Victor. Except Victor screws her over and when she demands payment, he shoves her into a wall. Paging Dr. Lauren to the white courtesy phone. This is your wake up call.
As Lauren is trying to leave, hotel security hassles her and then Kimber from "Nip/Tuck" shows up to save the day!!!! Please let Kelly Carlson be a recurring Madam on "Melrose Place." Please.

Re: Melrose Place season 1 recaps
From Zap2it By Andrea Reiher
Tonight on "Melrose Place," it's Ella's birthday and everyone's super-excited.
Ella & Her Client
Elle's real alibi for Sydney's murder is Dante Zeretti, a man she hired to investigate Sydney Andrews because Sydney blackmailed Ella into representing her art gallery. Ella wasn't over-enthused, plus the gallery just couldn't sell any art. Zeretti approaches her about that night and she blows him off, so Zeretti tells the cops that Ella hired him to break into Sydney's place and that Ella got to her before he did and used him as the suspect.
David & Jonah
Jonah is accused of stealing a diamond necklace from a video shoot but it turns out the necklace is at David's apartment. Unfortunately, David won't cop to it and Jonah tells him to be careful not to burn through his trust-fund like the way he burns through the people in his life. Jonah eventually has to apologize because a maid found the jewelry and Jonah vows to make it up to David. Hmmmm. Also, since when are Jonah and David such good friends?
Auggie & Violet
The restaurant turns up $700 short after the night and Violet spills a waitress's purse in front of Auggie. She's a recovering drug addict and Violet just framed her for stealing $700. Violet uses the girl's firing to get herself a bartending job. She's a sneaky little punk.
Lauren & Riley
Lauren blows Riley off because has now hooked up with Madam Mattison (awesome Kelly Carlson) and can't skip out on her Johns until they're done. Yeah, being a ho is hard. It turns out Riley was asking Lauren to be her maid of honor. Awwww.

Re: Melrose Place season 1 recaps
From Zap2it By Andrea Reiher
Tonight on "Melrose Place," Riley becomes a fashion model and Violet gets crazier (and a little bit awesome).
Violet the Devious
Crazypants goes all cuckoo at Auggie's apartment, fondling his clothes, stroking his bed and searching his drawers. She gets caught by David and claims she's "house-sitting." Violet finds a letter from Sydney to Auggie about Dr. Michael Mancini.
Later she is chugging Red Bulls and slathering on make-up in order to show up at the hospital with a racing heart for head cardiologist Mancini to check out. She looks more than a little like Sydney and his interest is piqued.
He "examines" her, realizes it's just too much caffeine and says the visit is on the house. She then says he can come by Cole and have one on the house there. Eventually I'm sure they'll be having each other on the house. Predictably, he shows at Cole and there is mucho flirting. When his wife Vanessa calls, he heads out but Violet follows him to "make sure he's okay to drive." They end up getting hot & heavy in his car and she slips out her cell phone.
Later, she comes to his house under the guise of interviewing for the sitter job and blackmails him with her video of their encounter, telling him that she's Sydney's daughter and she blames him for what happened to Sydney.
Jonah, Ella & Riley the Fashion Model?
Jonah films a fashion shoot for Ella and when Riley has to bring him a lens he forgot, the organic-crunchy-granola designer wants Riley for the face of his new campaign because she shows up all covered in paint and spinning tales of 1st grade. Wow.
Ella is none-too-pleased about having to work with Riley as her newest model but she puts on a good face taking champagne over to Riley & Jonah's apartment. Riley is totally freaking out but Ella says it's 5 days of work for $10,000. Riley still says no and Ella calls her selfish and storms out.
Except Riley & Jonah's rent check bounced and then when she catches him selling one of his favorite cameras. She doesn't want him sneaking around hiding his money problems from her and it's an actual scene between them that I like. Well done, Riley & Jonah. She then shows up for the modeling gig at WPK.
Riley surprises Jonah at the shoot, looking super-hot. OMG, I want her stomach. He's gobsmacked and touched and all that. Awww, I hate that I'm actually liking them in this episode!
Lauren & David
She's super-busy between the hospital and ho-ing. She's sent to an elite party on yacht where she might be having a little girl-on-girl action. The yacht party is for "import-export" gentlemen (coughMafiacough) and David shows up because he's trying to unload more art/antiquities.
Lauren freaks when David shows up on the boat and begs her new hooker friend to help her out. NHF distracts David and Lauren runs for it. Meanwhile, David is asked to be a lackey for the "import/export" guys and he turns them down because he works alone. A fight ensues and David gets the tar beat out of him. He shows up back at the MP building and spins a tale for Lauren about crashing a motorcycle.
She doesn't believe him (of course) and takes him to the hospital, where Dr. Michael Mancini sees him. Mancini then threatens that Lauren better tell him when she finds out what really happened to David. She tells David his injuries aren't consistent with a motorcycle crash and he cops to a fight, but not the whole story.
Meanwhile, Wendy agrees to give Lauren another chance because Lauren told her the truth about why she ran off the boat. But Lauren OWES HER. Dun dun dun.

Re: Melrose Place season 1 recaps
From Zap2it By Andrea Reiher
Tonight on "Melrose Place," Daphne Zuniga is back as Jo Reynolds, fashion photographer.
Riley, Ella & Jonah
Riley goes on her photoshoot and Jonah goes to a sit-down with a producer (Andrew) from when they chatted up Charlie at the premiere of "Kensington Squared" three weeks ago. At the shoot, Riley has on the cutest purple top with her jeams. She looks gorgeous. And Jo Reynolds is her photographer. Who immediately tells her to lose her top. I hope she starts crying like Coco in "Fame." Awesome. Ella has to talk Riley down from the ledge and they bond.
However, Jo needs her to get emotional and raw for the shoot, so after Riley drops her top Jo starts in with how nobody wants to teach public school and her fiance is a loser who can't pay the bills and whatnot. Riley storms off the set, yelling at Ella that she doesn't trust her. Ella says that it says a lot about Riley's home life if she'd give up 10K for an ego bruise.
At Jonah's meeting, Andrew wants to completely change his entire film around. Luckily, the producer's development girl (Kendra) wants to do "Living in Reverse" just the way it is. They bond over his movie and the fact that they're both from Philly and have a love of the same movie theatre. She invites him to "work on their pitch" for Andrew at a bar. Hmmm.
Jo brings Ella the pictures from the shoot. When Jo calls Riley a sell-out, Ella fires right back that Jo is also a sell-out, for trading in the refugee camps for a twelve-page spread in Vogue. Jo comes to see Riley at the complex and can't believe she lives at her old building! What a coinky-dink. Jo says she's leaving to be a photo-journalist again and Riley admits she is closed off. Jo then tells her that her last shot had such raw emotion that Anton went nuts and she's the new face for Anton V. Jeans.
Auggie & Violet
Violet comes upon Auggie and Riley looking at some sparrows that came back to the MP complex to nest. Violet looks so jealous that Auggie and Riley have a "thing" that I half-expect the nest to burst into flames when she stares at it. Anyway, she asks Auggie to help her put some furniture together and he agrees to come by after work.
Except after work, he spies Riley all upset after the photoshoot and runs over to comfort her. Violet looks murderous. Riley and Auggie talk and when she reveals she took off her top, Colin Egglesfield gives these hilarious elevator eyes to Riley then asks, "How'd that go?" It was hilarious.
When Jonah gets home, Violet spills to him that Riley is at Auggie's. When Riley leaves to get supper, Jonah confronts Auggie, all jealous and angry. Auggie insists that they're just friends. Jonah is a total douchebag about it, wanting Auggie to 'fess up. So Auggie says Riley kissed HIM, not the other way around. Except that's not what Jonah was talking about. Oops.
Jonah comes home and tells Riley that he doesn't care about the money, he cares about the truth. She denies it up and down and he leaves to get some air. Auggie heads over to Violet's to offer her some help (after totally ditching her earlier, which was crappy).
Speaking of crappy, someone hosed the bird's nest down off the eave. Was it Jonah or Violet? Hmmm. Speaking of Jonah, he "goes for a walk" and meets up with Kendra from Paramount.
Lauren & David
David sees Lauren's "past due" tuition notices and asks how much she needs. She says $20,000 and he says he can loan it to her, no interest. Well, this ought to put her in a nice complicated spot between her boss and her friend. Meanwhile, he pays a cop for some house blueprints for his next heist.
Lauren comes by to take him up on the loan and while she's there, she spies his blueprints for a Beverly Hills mansion. She worries that he's in trouble so naturally she follows him to said mansion and busts him for stealing jewelry. At home, they fight about his thievery. He seems to think it's okay because they're all white-collar jerks like his father. Lauren says she'll keep quiet but he isn't going to do it again.
Just then, she gets a text from Wendi about a job. How do things look from the moral high ground, Lauren? I mean, being a ho isn't exactly the same as being a thief because it's just you, not somebody else you're hurting and blahblahblah bothfelonycakes.
