Bones Season 5 news and Spoilers no posting Updated 10/25
General news
Not only did Bones and Booth not have baby-making sex on Bones last season, they probably aren't going to creating a li'l Brennan anytime soon. Bones star Emily Deschanel says it's unlikely her character will become pregnant in the upcoming season. "There are complications along the way of Temperance and Booth discussing having children," Emily explained during an appearance at the 49th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco. "I think it's very possible she will be pregnant in the future, but I don't think its going to happen right away. I think she has some growing to do. Everyone is aware that once you get the two characters together you lose that glue that holds the show together, which is that sexual tension," she said. "I think they are being very careful about how to move forward without destroying that tension." Emily also revealed part of season five's guest-star lineup, which includes a very famous lady rock star. Apparently performer Cyndi Lauper will be stopping by next year. Emily said: "I don't think Cyndi will be playing herself, but I'm not sure what role she'll play. They're debating it now. I sang 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' in one episode. She saw it and was interested in being in the show. She was an idol from when I was a child, so I will probably be beside myself that day." Stephen Fry will also be back, and it's still true that Emily's sis Zooey Deschanel may stop by the Bones set one of these days. [...] We caught up with Brendan Fehr [...] and he told us, "As far as I'm told, I will be back. I don't know how many episodes. I don't know in what capacity or anything like that, but I have been told that I can expect a little bit of employment in the upcoming season." Source: Kristin on E!Online
The best tidbit we got, however, comes from the divine Ms. Deschanel, who tells us, " There absolutely will be more kissing between Bones and Booth." Other good news coming out of this season? Angela and Hodgins' long separation may finally be coming to an end. The beautiful Michaela Conlin tells us, "I hear Jack and Angela are going to be reconciling soon! Hopefully they're on their way to making it back toward each other." Source: Kristin on E!Online
I'm hearing that Booth will demonstrate some pretty strong feelings right off the bat. A related aside: My great-uncle Andy had a brain tumor. Before his surgery, he loved nothing more than a plate of fried eggs and bacon. Afterward, the mere smell of bacon, or any pork product really, made him sick to his stomach. Bones is the bacon. Bones star David Boreanaz is threatening to exercise his power as a producer by skipping an episode later this fall that centers on a major phobia of his. "Are you kidding me?" David exclaimed, when I told him that series creator Hart Hanson is planning for his character, Seeley Booth, and Temperance Brennan to investigate a death at a chicken farm. "This is like some kind of bad joke," says the actor, who has a lifelong fear of birds. "Hart can play that game, but I'm going to kill him.. I just won't show up. I hate birds. They freak me out. It's more roosters that I'm fearful of, but I'm not crazy about chickens, either." Hanson, who plans to shoot at an actual chicken farm with or without David, admits to letting his devilish side get the best of him. "Between Emily, a passionate animal-rights activist not wanting to exploit animals and David having a phobia of chickens, it should be an interesting shoot," he says. "You gotta have a little fun." The episode opens with the discovery of a body that looks suspiciously like a half-chicken/half-man creature. "It is bizarre," Hanson says. "I'm not sure by the end of this episode if anyone's going to eat chicken again." Emily, who volunteers for an organization called Farm Sanctuary, has been a vegan for years. She hopes her meat-eating costar will join her in the episode-and perhaps learn a lesson. "If David's going to eat chickens, he ought to know where they come from," she says. "If we can make the public aware of atrocities, these chickens can be ambassadors for other chickens living horrible lives in factory farms." Source: Keck's Exclusives
[Zooey Deschanel will] be playing Brennan's never-before-seen [cousin] in the show's Christmas episode on Dec. 10. Source: The Ausiello Files
Moonlighting did it back in the 80's. And now Fox's Bones is planning an all black and white episode to air this spring. "A lot of shows have done those 40's film noir episodes," the show's executive producer Stephen Nathan tells me. "But what we're thinking of doing is going back a few more years to a 1930's era homage to Depression-Era comedies like (1936's) "My Man Godfrey" (starring William Powell and Carole Lombard) or (1934's) "The Thin Man" (starring Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles), where they're living the high life in the midst of the Depression - drinking and having a good time while solving murders." Someone alert Arlington Cemetery- Bones may dig up JFK! After abandoning (for now) story lines that would have exhumed the corpses of Abraham Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth (Seeley's ancestor) and Adolf Hitler, the Fox series hired Kennedy assassination conspiracy expert Bob Harris to pen an episode (set to air in January) about the exhumation of a president's corpse. Executive producer Stephen Nathan tells me the story includes "the government sweeping in and asking for a favor, but then the bones disappear." Is the show worried about provoking the wrath of Kennedy's protective daughter, Caroline? "We're seeing how much we can get away with," says Nathan. "For now, we're not using his actual name, so it's Kennedy-like." Source: Keck's Exclusives

Episode 5.07: "The Dwarf in the Dirt" Airdate: Nov 12th
Airdate depends on the World Series, if episode 6 is pushed back a week this episode will be pushed back as well.
Gidget Jones: Female, 20s to 40s, little person, a cougar, bejeweled, flashy, unintimidatable, any ethnicity. Gidget is a fierce little person and like the Vince McMahon of the Midget Wrestling circuit. She explains to Booth and Brennan that she and murdered Midget Wrestling star, Bryce DaFonte - aka The Iron Leprechaun - had had an affair, but that she'd ended it because it got boring. Gidget admits that Bryce was suing her for an even bigger cut of the gate and says she didn't believe it was a revenge thing on Bryce's side, that it was strictly business and she wasn't upset. When the gun found with Bryce's remains is identified as Gidget's, she says she gave it to him because she thought it would help him with his scheme to make fast money. She also admits that he actually was the one that broke up with her for another woman. Todd Moore: Male, 20s to 30s, little person, athletic, wrestler a plus but not necessary, any ethnicity. Todd is a wrestler for the Midget Wrestling League who has stepped into the very popular character of The Iron Leprechaun after its originator - Bryce DaFonte - disappeared. HE explains to Agent Booth that Gidget Jones, the head of the Midget Wrestling League, may be someone who could have benefitted from Bryce's death because she had to pay him a piece of admissions prices. Todd also informs Booth that Bryce and Gidget used to be an item and it did not end well. Source: SpoilerTV

Episode 5.08: "The Foot in the Foreclosure" Airdate: Nov 19th
Airdate depends on World Series
After an exhaustive search [...], Fox's Bones has finally cast a grandfather (or 'Pops') for David Boreanaz 's Seeley Booth. Hank Booth, a former army EMT, will be played by a Walton. specifically Ralph Waite, who played patriarch John Walton on The Waltons from 1972-81. "This is an important role and when Ralph's name came up we were thrilled," says executive producer Stephen Nathan. "It's remarkable to see someone at that age so vital." Sounds like Ralph will need to be spry, considering his character will insist on accompanying his grandson out into the field to investigate "The Foot in the Foreclosure" on the Nov. 19 episode. "This is a really good murder," promises Nathan. "All that's left is ash and one foot, and Hank can't help but tag along." The episode kicks off with Hank, recovering from a bypass, leaving a nursing home after getting into physical altercations with his male nurses. "He walks out and comes to live with Booth, whom he raised," says Nathan. "They'll try to rekindle the life they had for so many years, but you can never quite reclaim the past." We will also learn the reasons behind Booth's abusive father abandoning his son at age 11. [...] Nathan says Bones still plans to cast Booth's father at a later date, adding, "You can't introduce too many relatives at once." Source: Keck's Exclusives
