Eyecon Report Part 1

I attended the Eyecon that revolved around the TV show Supernatural
from April 4 – 6th, 2008. Below is my recounting of the convention
from my perspective along with my reviews:
Friday, April 4, 2008:
On this date I flew in to the Orlando-Sanford Airport and arrived
around 10:15 AM. I was greeted by my friend Karie (RossVetKarie on
the yahoo group Supernatural on the WB) who generously offered to pick
me up at the airport. This was the first time Karie and I met in
person despite having talked and IM'ed for the last few months. Karie
made the badges for the members of our yahoo group and put our names
on them and gave them to us to print out. I used Photoshop elements
to resize them a bit to fit a 4x6 card and then printed them on 4x6
photo paper. After that I laminated them, punched a hole in the top,
and added to my lanyard.
Karie picked me up and we drove to Orlando International Airport where
we picked up a fellow Supernatural fan and friend from the Yahoo
group. From there we went to our hotel—the Florida Hotel which is
connected to the Florida Mall. I then checked in and made my way to
my room which was gorgeous. Unfortunately I missed out on the block
rate for the rooms so I had a regular room which had a king sized bed,
plasma TV, and other nice amenities. My room was on a corner and had
a great view of the front of the hotel including the fountain and the
pool.
Karie and I then went over to the food court at the Florida Mall (the
hotel is attached to the mall at the level of the lobby). We met up
with Amy and Robin, friends of mine also from the Yahoo group with
whom I have corresponded. I ended up hanging out with Karie, Amy, and
Robin for most of the weekend. I got chicken nuggets from Chik-Fil-A
for lunch.
