Re: Blood Fest
Good game guys, well, maybe not good but you know what I mean. Ah well, at least I got some exercise.
We know there were lots of things wrong with the game that was out of our control, such as:
- Rules were ill-defined and changed during the course of the game.
- Many of the instructions that we did received, both written and verbal, were confusing, misleading, and incomplete.
- The refs had no clue what was going on or had any idea of what the rules and objectives were. For example, I knew more then the ref did about the props, many times I had to let him read the description so he would know how the thing worked.
What we should take away from this game when host our own is,
- Keep the game simple. (Keep It Simple, Stupid)
- We need to have the game rules and a map handed to each person before the game starts (we could offer them on CC’s website as well as ours ours).
- We need to make sure that the refs know the game rules and can answer most questions. If we do have to use outside people to ref, we should pair them with someone from our team. This should help stop them from standing around chatting with each other.
Now for our performance.
- Radio use – I think we had pretty good radio use during the first half of the game but kinda got away from it during the second half. When we get some team cash, we should look into getting some headsets, they don’t have to be elaborate but something that we can use more effectively during combat conditions.
- During the second half, it seemed we got bogged down with the BS going on and lost the initiative. We were forced into a defensive position and kept reacting to the other side. We need to figure out ways that we could have changed things up and seize the initiative once again.
- We should also think of ways to keep the walk-ons motivated. During the last part of the game, many just found a bunker and sat there. Do you think assigning them to their own squads would help in this regard? It might give them some kinda identity and pride. We could appoint some CC regulars to commend these squads. We could have used serious players like the 'General Sir!' kid more effectively.
All in all, I enjoyed the game today, I'll just mark it down as a learning experience.

Re: Blood Fest
game was good all in all, one thing i hated was there needs to be a ref at ALL times in the spawn point, instead of yelling and begging to hear when re-spawn was, and not to whine but as me and a few others were sneeking around i noticed that some of the other players just walked in and walked out because there was no ref to be found, the zombies was kinda BullS.... nobody really knew bout them or how to kill them, i know they wanted to suprise us well they still could have by telling us but not saying when they would appear. scenarios should be pretty simple and laid out at the beginning not made up as you play

Re: Blood Fest
it wasn't too bad. given that i was freakn tired and in a little shi**y of a mood due to work, i did have fun. i was glad to see bryan take charge and do a wonderful job.
we do need more practice!!! i think something that might help is to have CC open up more of the fields for us or take advantage of private land so we can play aginst another team (even if its just walkons) so you all can see different tactics at work. i got behind the other teams line twice with relitive ease on saturday but i found that one guy really cant do crap but pick a few of there players off then run for his life. wich really isn't a bad thing but having 2 or 3 more guys with me could really break a teams moral.

Re: Blood Fest
the game was ok in my view. i did think the twist of the zombies was not bad, just like everyone else said they needed to be clear on how to kill them. we did an awsome job the first half even if i did have gun trouble with my ion and had to swap to my 98c. alex, john and i. took down some guys with an ambush at king of the hill and once we were spotted they tried to take us out. thanks to the radios and the map code idea i was able to get us some back up and we set up a nice ambush again and took down their guys that they had sent in to destroy us. i think in total we took down about 10-15 of thier guys including the general thanks to john. i think even if we didnt stick together the whole game but managed to take charge and help our side out was good too. i agree that the ref's need improvement as well. they needed to at least have a copy of every thing that was going to happen and need to stop bs'ing around out there and letting people get away with crap. keith and i both had an issue with a guy that should have been taken care of. just someone with a bad attitude and bad sportsmanship. i am looking forward to going to new fields tho just to do something different. kinda getting tired of the same scenery.
