Re: Homemade Paint Gernade
not bad, i like how the fill them up just not so sure about the safty device to keep it from goin off. i say if we use that design we should put a pull pin in by drilling a hole in the 1/2 in pvc coupling and adding a cotter pin. that should keep it from going off while running around

Re: Homemade Paint Gernade
Chris,
I think you are right about the stability of that design, I tested it and it was kinda scary to carry around, even filled with water. I found a better design in the special ops forum - http://forum.specialopspaintball.com/index.php?showtopic=80216&hl=homemade+grenade - and
I tested this out and it rocks! All I need now is to test some fills and we'll be ready to roll. I'm not sure what the fill will end up costing but I'm thinking the total cost should be around $1 to $1.50 per grenade with most of the parts reusable, if we can find them afterwards. We can bring this cost down by buying bulk sugerical tubing on-line (I found a site that sells it in black). If anyone is interested in going in with me let me know. We can get 2 grenades per 12" of tubing and 10' of tubing is $10.50 + shipping. I also found it at Home Depot for $15 / 10', which is still not a bad price per grenade.
Before we get too far into this, we should probably make sure that homemade grenades are allowed. If they are, being able to use grenades without have to worry about the cost would add another powerful weapon to our arsenal. Plus it would be cool to keep chucking them at our opponents.
