Men's Singles
Roger Federer (SUI) and Rafael Nadal (ESP) marched on to their eagerly awaited clash in the semis. Federer will take on former champion Carlos Moya (ESP) in the next round. Although Moya's fitness is suspect, he displayed excellent tennis skills in a five-set match against fellow Spaniard Fernando Vicente to advance. Nadal rolled past another promising teenager Richard Gasquet (FRA) in three sets.
Earlier, second seed Rod**** (USA) fell to Jose Acasuso (ARG) in another five-setter, leaving this half of the draw wide open for other challengers.
Women's Singles
Davenport was stretched to three sets again before advancing whilst Clijsters easily made the next round in two sets. Venus Williams was bundled out 15 year-old Sesil Karatantcheva (BUL) 3-6, 6-1, 1-6. Ninth seed Vera Zvonareva (RUS) fell to local favourite Mary Pierce (FRA) 6-7, 5-7.

Men's Singles
Last year's finalists, fifth seed Gaston Gaudio (ARG) and eighth seed Guillermo Coria (ARG) were both knocked out in the fourth round. Third seed Marat Safin (RUS), the Australian Open champion, also failed to reach the quarter-finals.
World No. 1 Roger Federer easily won his quarter-final match against Victor Hanescu (ROM) 6-2, 7-6, 6-3 to set up the much anticipated match against rising star Rafael Nadal (ESP). Nadal defeated fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 7-5, 6-2, 6-0.
Women's Singles
The top two seeds in the women's singles fell to two former French Open champions today. Mary Pierce (FRA) crushed top seed Lindsey Davenport (USA) 6-3, 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
Former champion Justine Henin-Hardenne (BEL) upstaged second seed and also Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova (RUS) 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-final match. Sharapova had advanced to the quarter-finals easily but succumbed to her experienced opponent who had earlier defeated another Russian Svetlana Kuznetsov, the US Open champion, in three gruelling sets.
Other quarter-finals results -
Seventh seed Nadia Petrova (RUS) dispatched Ana Ivanovic (SCG) 6-2, 6-2 while 16th seed Elena Likhovtseva (RUS) fought to three sets (2-6, 6-4, 6-4) against unseeded 15 year-old Bulgarian Sesil Karatantcheva.

Women's Singles
Two former French Open champions progressed to the women's singles finals where one of them will have a chance of taking the title twice.
Twelfth seed Henin-Hardenne (BEL) blasted past seventh seed Petrova (RUS) 6-2, 6-3 and Pierce (FRA) pounded sixteenth seed Likhovtseva (RUS) 6-1, 6-1. With both players scorching hot at the moment, the final should be one awesome match.

Re: Tennis: 2005 French Open Results and Latest Updates
Men's Singles Semi-Finals
Federer (SUI) crashed out of the 2005 French Open, losing to teen prodigy Nadal (ESP) in four sets 3-6, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6. Nadal started the match in style, pounding winners after winners while Federer was tentative in his game. The Swiss kicked into gear in the second set, launching big kick serves, volleying with precision and varying the range of his shots to dominate Nadal. Trailing 1-5 behind, the Spaniard fought back to 4-5 before Federer closed the set at 6-4. However, Nadal regained his momentum to take the next two sets using angles, powerful spinning winners and great passing shots.
The other semi-final went to five sets with Puerta (ARG) defeating N.Davydenko (RUS) 6-3, 5-7, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Unseeded Puerta ensured a representative from Argentina in the final after both the finalists from Argentina last year fell in earlier rounds.
Puerta set up match-point at 5-4 up with a forehand that barely clipped the line, and then unleashed a heavily spinning winner to end the match.

2005 French Open Finals
Men's Singles
Rafael Nadal (ESP) triumphed over Mariano Puerta (ARG) in the French Open Men's Singles finals in four sets 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-1, 7-5. The fourth-seeded Spaniard has won the title in his French Open outing; the previous time a man has achieved this was way back in 1982 when Mats Wilander (SWE) won.
Against a big-hitting Puerta, Nadal relied on his athleticism and consistent baseline game to wear his opponent down. Nadal has won four straight tournaments and is now deservedly the King in the claycourt season.
Women's Singles
Former World No. 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne (BEL) pummelled crowd favourite Mary Pierce (FRA) 6-1, 6-1 to win her fourth Grand Slam title. Henin-Hardenne attacked Pierce's game from the start and was never challenged by her opponent.
