Paramount CRT Bontrager RR (13th July 2008)

70 miles at Leighton nr. Telford, 7 laps of undulating circuit with a long steady climb to the finish. The sun was shining which makes a change from most races I've done this year where it's been nice all week and then persisted it down at the weekend!

Went for it from the off getting into a few good moves but never opened much of a gap. Break of 5 got away on 3rd lap and stayed away to the finish. Kept attacking throughout the race and split it up a bit but everything was chased down.

Was suffering by the time we came to the finishing climb on the last lap, racing 70 miles hard from the gun just a little too much for me, average was 24.1mph for the 70 miles. Got cramp at the bottom of the climb which stopped me competing in the sprint for 6th place. Still could compete today which a step in the right direction after a couple of weeks where I've not been going very well, plenty of races left to do yet so as Bongo would say BRING IT ON!!
