south staffs RR league 1
rode in the first group on thursday, with the second group of 3rd cats catching us on lap3/5 and the 2nd cats not catching us.
35miles around a 7mile circuit at Knighton with 23.5av i think, with only about 5or6 of us doing much work in the first group
it was won by a solo wolvahaptom whls rider who jumped towards the finish on last lap.
Felt pretty strong but couldnt get anything in the end, cos i got a bit blocked for the uphill finish
dont think im doing next weeks cos Cols in london but its at penkridge if anyone else wants to
Joe

Re: south staffs RR league
2 stones in last thursdays RR (me and Dave). I started in the first group but we had to stop the race on the first lap with horses in the road, so the second group caught us by the 2nd lap.
Back in the later groups there was a really quick pace i think because of Roger Hmmond form Cervelo who thinnned out the groups and left riders everywhere.
When his group came past us a few jumped across and i was up until the descent where I gave up and waited for the 2nd finishing group which i think i got 3rd in the sprint (but we wernet sprinting for places or points)so i reckon 15th-20th?
Roger hammond won in the end(like most people thought he would) by jumping after the final corner.
Well done as well to craig from stafford who held on to the hammond group to get 6 or 7th on thursday and the lead in the league.
