Winter Training - Schedule Change - Tue/Thu 7pm!
Hello,
Just so everyone knows the training rides will now switch to starting at 7pm from the usual location on the business park in Stone and will be riding the usual route up and down the A34 (where its well lit) - we went out tonight around the lanes and it was getting dark pretty early into the ride. The A34 will be safer since it is well lit but of course we will all need fully charged/working lights to be safe.
For anyone who hasn't trained for racing with the club before now is an ideal time to start - the pace will be around 18mph average - then after xmas the pace will be gradually increased up to the usual 21mph+ in readiness for racing. The route is pretty flat and is about 22 miles in total with an optional group sprint at the finish coming back into Stone by the fire station. Now is a good time to practice your group riding skills.
Don't flame the messenger, I'm just the one who agreed to put this message on here!

Re: Winter Training - Schedule Change - Tue/Thu 7pm!
Hello,
I can't see an issue with that, I'm not a club official or anything, just show up on the Business Park at 7pm on a Thursday and join in. The ride is up and down the A34 for two laps (on the lit section) and covers about 22 miles, I think the pace is pretty steady at this time of year so expect about 18.5mph or thereabouts.
Paul.
