posticon Anime music.

I love anime music, theres just something about it. In fact, FLCL is how I heard of The Pillows. emoticon

I also like Yoko Kano a lot. If you're not sure who she is, she did the music for: Cowboy bebop, Trigun, Escaflowne, and I'm pretty sure she's done music for other anime as well, just not sure what ones. emoticon

I also easily grow attached to -- well, almost all anime music!

My other favourite Kanno work is Macross Plus, Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, and some of her work on Turn A Gundam.

<fanboy>I don't think she did the music for Trigun, though. I'm pretty sure her frequent collaborator Tsuneo Imahori (guitarist in the Seatbelts) wrote the music for that, including the mighty H.T.</fanboy>

YK Project

It's not updated anymore, but I believe it still has sound clips of a TON of her work. She's a very talented composer, and her ability to bounce between styles is amazing.

Quoted for truth.

I really liked "Ask DNA" and a lot of the music from the Bebop movie. Not all of it is up my alley, but there's so much music from the Bebop OSTs alone that it's not a real problem.

Not much of a "Jazzy" person but, Yoko Kanno's music is an acception. Plus with anime music you can find some really cool J-rock bands that you never heard of.

My favorite anime music would be...Escaflowne the movie

Aye, Yokko Kanno is a great musician/artist/writer/compser.

There's alot of anime music that I love, espessially what Yuki Kajiura did for .hack//SIGN. Just about all the anime I've ever seen had some pretty great music, and, like most, Furi Kuri is how I came about The Pillows.

But one anime, Haibane Renmei (My very favorite) had probably the most beautiful music ever other than Furi Kuri. So, yeah. Has anyone heard anything by Kou Ootani? (That's what I think his name is....) He did the music for Haibane Renmei.

I thought the music in Haibane Ranmei was good as well. Here's the ANN encyclopedia entry for Kou Ootani:

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Hellsing. That anime had some really kick-ass blues music.

;_; I love you. I know hardly anyone (Except some people on Livejournal and the chef at my school) who has seen Haibane Renmei. T_T Will you marry me?

Well, we can't actually (I'm assuming you're a guy too). It's illegal in most of the US. But thanks for the offer.

But seriously, Haibane Ranmei is an amazing anime. I saw it about a year ago at my college's anime club. I want to buy the DVDs eventually too, since seeing it once wasn't enough for me to figure out what the hell was going on.

Nah, I'm a girl. x3

I first saw it I think when my brother ordered in on Netflix, a little over a year ago, since we had seen the preview before on some other things. I bought the last volume a little while after it came out, and it made me sad, but happy. But it's still totally my favorite series ever.
