New Bands

I recently heard some stuff by The Killers and The Secret Machines. Good stuff. I recomend people to at least give them a listen. You never know, if you check em out you might like them. I did.

Then again you might not so post the names of some new bands you do like.

Re: New Bands

Delays are the newest objects of my affections. Pop in the classical sense, just a good melody, catchy hook and a guy who sings like a girl.

Their debut, 'Faded Seaside Glamour' came out this year. I first heard them on this station:

KEXP - Seattle

This station is all I have playing in my office all day every day. From Doves to Interpol to Trashcan Sinatras to Public Enemy to the Postal Service. And no commercials. Public radio lives!

Wow, sounds like a great station. We have a station simular to that here called KFAI but it's really hard to get it. I listen to it when I can though.

Re: New Bands

I just started listening to a band called the postal service on the advice of my girlfriend. They're very good. I especially recommend "we will become silhouettes" and "such great heights".

Postal Service led me to check out Ben Gibbard (the singer) and his other band, Death Cab for Cutie. They are just wonderful. Latest album is Transatlanticism, and it's the perfect place to start. Highlights are "The New Year", "Passenger Seat" and "The Sound of Settling".

Re: New Bands

May I suggest The Shins? They are like indie but kind of softer or something. Good songs to start out with are "Caring Is Creepy", "So Says I", and "Fighting In A Sack".

The Shins are awesome. Also check out Neutral Milk Hotel. "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" is a great song.
