The Order of Unruh Episode I

<Grey> PRELUDE: Having been approached by people like themselves, and given a choice, several travelers have found their way to a secret temple on a rogue asteroid. There they find knowledge, and possibly, a purpose.

<Grey> The new students have been brought to the Temple and taken before the Triumvirate Council, who has declared them suitable students for the Order. They are now to begin their training...

<Grey> <<<<<<<<BEGIN The Order of Unruh Episode I>>>>>>>>>>>

<Grey> ACTION: The new students are currently in a large room just outside the Triumvirate chambers. Awaiting their escort to show them around.

<Katellan> ::leans against a wall in the corner of the room, arms crossed::

<Ahki> ::Ahki looks around the room curiously, eyeing the other students in apprehension. In the back of her mind, she hopes that this experience will be much different than the last time she was involved with such an order..::

<Grey> <Male Student> :: is standing near Katellan:: Katellan: So, what do you think about all of this?

<Katellan> ::shrugs at the male student and doesn't answer::

<Grey> <Male Student> :: shrugs and continues pacing the room::

<Grey> ACTION: After several long minutes that feel like hours, one of the two doors opposite the Triumvirate Chamber opens and a tall human woman dressed in dark gray robes and cloak enters.

<Grey> <Woman> All: Greetings and welcome to you all. I'm pleased to have the honor of showing you all around our fine Temple.

<Ahki> ::brushes off the sleeve of her tunic and tries not to fidget as she waits. She smiles politely as the human woman enters, but refrains from speaking until she is addressed.::

<Grey> <Woman> :: looks to be in her mid thirties, but could be older or younger:: All: I trust all of your trips here were comfortable?

<Katellan> ::nods at the woman:: Woman: Comfortable enough.

<Grey> <Woman> :: nods as the new students answer her question:: All: Good, now shall we begin the tour? Or would you all prefer to get something to eat first?

<Katellan> ::shrugs::

<Ahki> :: pauses for a moment as her stomach quietly rumbles, but decides to ignore it:: Woman: I would prefer to begin the tour, and get to know my surroundings.

<Grey> <Woman> :: nods:: All: We will save that for a bit later then. If you will all please follow me I will show you around. :: turns back towards the door she entered from::

<Katellan> :: pushes away from the wall, following the woman, and keeping an eye on those around her::

<Grey> <Other Students> :: shrug and follow the Woman::

<Ahki> ::steps forward to follow the woman::

<Grey> ACTION: The Woman leads the small group of students through a long corridor and through another door marked "Beta Wing". Beyond the door is a truly massive central chamber of some sort. Directly in front of them several steps is a railing and then empty space for several floors. Through a huge skylight a simulated sky can be seen, complete with an artificial sun.

<Grey> <Woman> :: steps forward to the railing and turns to face the students, raising her arms a bit:: All: This is the central chamber for this wing of the Temple. As you can see there are several levels, all of which can be reached via several easy to find lifts.

<Grey> <Woman> All: If you look up you will notice the artificial sky, it is not actually necessary but we've found that most of our students tend to enjoy a standard day and night cycle.

<Ahki> ::steps forward and takes in the sight, looking up at the sky and then back down at the immense space in front of her::

<Grey> ACTION: The large chamber is cylindrical in shape, each level has a balcony that rings the space in the center. So other students and members of the Order can be seen walking on other levels opposite the one the group is on.

<Grey> <Woman> :: motions to the center space:: All: If you look down far enough you will see the gardens. I will show them to you later in the tour.

<Katellan> ::glances at the chamber and the railings, but doesn't bother going closer for a better look::

<Ahki> ::steps to the rail, leaning over slightly to look at all the floors below and catch a glimpse of the gardens before turning back to the guide:: Woman: How could no one know of this place? It must have taken years to build.

<Grey> <Woman> :: smiles:: Ahki: It did take years to build, decades in fact. We are constantly adding wings when we need them. As for how no one knows of this place, well, let's just say we keep a low profile. :: smiles again and turns again, walking to the right, the balcony continues on in both directions and circles the central space:: All: Follow please.

<Katellan> ::follows the woman again::

<Grey> <Woman> :: leads the group around the balcony about a quarter of the way and then turns and pushes the control for a door, which opens to reveal a lift, large enough for eight to ten people:: All: If you will all step inside we will move on to another level.

<Katellan> ::steps into the lift, trying to shrink into a back corner and save herself some personal space::

<Ahki> ::steps in after the others, glancing around curiously::

<Grey> <Woman> :: steps in once everyone is inside the lift and pushes the button for the ground floor:: All: As you may have noticed, there are no guards or Masters patrolling the non-sensitive areas of the Temple. We feel that they would get in the way and only serve to put the students on edge.

<Grey> ACTION: The lift doors close and the group can tell that it is descending rather rapidly, however the effects of the high speed seem to be less than they should be.

<Grey> <Woman> All: We have few rules here at the Temple, we feel that enlightenment and growth is more often hindered than helped by lots of rules and regulations.

<Grey> ACTION: The motion stops and the lift doors open, showing a beautiful garden, as big around as the central space, which is several hundred meters across at least. There are trees and bushes, streams and small ponds, also other students can be spotted running or walking around, or sitting on rocks or benches. The artificial light from the skylight gives the feeling that you are on the surface of a planet.

<Katellan> Woman: And what would you few rules happen to be?

<Ahki> Woman: Without a sense of order and control, there is nothing but anarchy. :: pauses as she looks out at the gardens, her eyes widening::

<Grey> <Woman> All: The rules, and the introduction to your training will come later. :: steps out of the lift spins around to face the students again, smiling:: All: These are the central gardens of this wing. There are other such gardens but this is one of the nicest I think....

The Order of Unruh Episode I (Part 2)

<Grey> ACTION: Other students and members of the Order wave at the group as they spot them exiting the lift.

<Katellan> ::looks around at the gardens...they remind her of home::

<Ahki> ::scans the area with her eyes, smiling at the waving students as she notices them::

<Grey> <Woman> All: You will have plenty of time to explore at your leisure after we have finished with the tour. :: turns on her heel and walks towards the opposite side of the gardens:: All: Follow please.

<Katellan> ::follows the woman yet again::

<Ahki> ::quickly follows behind the woman::

<Grey> ACTION: The Woman leads the group across the gardens and through another door and corridor, ending in a medium sized room, connecting the hall they just came from, and two other halls, one on each side. There are also two rather large double doors directly in front of them.

<Grey> <Woman> All: And through here is one of our food growing chambers. :: pushes the control and the double doors slide open to reveal what looks like an endless room with rows and rows of plants and no visible ceiling::

<Grey> ACTION: If the group stepped inside the room they would see that there is a ceiling it's just very high, and houses a great many large banks of lights.

<Grey> <Woman> All: As you will see there are members of the order tending the crops on a regular basis. :: points out several gray robed people in the fields of crops::

<Grey> <Woman> :: makes sure all of the students are back far enough and closes the door once again, before turning to her left and starting down that corridor:: All: Follow please.

<Ahki> ::follows behind the woman::

<Katellan> ::follows::

<Grey> ACTION: The Woman leads the group through several more corridors and up several floors in another lift. Stopping at another set of double doors, these normal size though.

<Grey> <Woman> :: opens the double doors and steps forward to another balcony in-between two glass lifts and two sets of staircases leading down:: All: And here are the main training grounds for this wing.

<Grey> ACTION: Over the balcony the group can see a large chamber, five or six stories tall, and several hundred meters wide and long, there are many obstacles and pillars in the chamber, as well as different types of training equipment. There are also many students down there training in different things.

<Grey> <Woman> All: This is where most of your training will take place. Not all of it however. As you can see we are on the third of five floors that span the height of this chamber.

<Grey> ACTION: The flash of light as well as the hum of light sabers can be seen and heard from the balcony.

<Ahki> ::eagerly watches the training students, and desires to be there with them, training again. She listens to the familiar sound of the lightsabers for a moment, before turning back to the woman with a smile:: Woman: When will we begin training?

<Ahki> <smile, rather>

<Grey> <Woman> :: smiles at Ahki's eagerness:: Ahki: Soon my dear. :: turns and enters one of the glass lifts::

<Ahki> ::follows::

<Katellan> ::follows again::

<Grey> ACTION: The lift takes the group to the ground floor of the training area, and once there, right in front the group spots a large catlike creature in the same color robes as their tour guide, instructing several students at how to use a saber.

<Grey> <Togorian> :: hears the lift and turns, smiling:: Woman: Sorah! I see you've brought me some new recruits. :: leaves his students repeating a drill of some kind and approaches the group, he is easily two and a half meters tall.

<Ahki> ::stares up at the Togorian instructor respectfully::

<Grey> <Sorah> :: smiles at the large Togorian and nods:: Togorian: Well, actually I'm still showing them around, they won't officially start their training for a day or so. As you well know Kerrath.

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: nods and looks the new students over:: All: I hope you all came here to learn. Just work hard and practice and you should all do just fine. :: smiles at them and turns back to Sorah:: Sorah: I've got to get back to my students. :: turns and moves back to his students, yelling at a few who got the drills wrong, but not in that annoying drill sergeant way::

<Grey> <Sorah> :: turns back to the group:: All: That was Kerrath, one of the best Saber Masters here at the Temple. He will be training you in the use of the Lightsaber.

<Katellan> ::nods politely in Kerrath's general direction::

<Ahki> ::glances at Kerrath and the students::

<Grey> <Sorah> All: Now, would you all like to get something to eat? The next stop on the tour is the mess area anyway.

<Ahki> ::nods in reply::

<Katellan> ::nods at Sorah::

<Grey> ACTION: Sorah leads the group out of the training area and to the mess hall, which is not as large as the training area but still a good sized room, it is also full of students having their mid-day meal. The group sits down at a free table, and the food is top notch. Afterwards Sorah finishes the tour and shows them each to their individual quarters, telling them they can reach her or anyone else for assistance via the computer terminals in their rooms.

<Grey> She also tells them that they can view a map of the Temple on their terminals as well as a class schedule. And with that she leaves them to explore and get settled in to their new quarters...

The Order of Unruh Episode II

<Grey> PRELUDE: The new recruits have been shown around the main areas of the wing of the Temple that they will be staying in. They were shown to their quarters and left to explore and settle in to their new home. Inside their quarters they found changes of clothes, if they want to use them, as well as a datapad for use in their studies that has been loaded with resource information on the Force and the Order.

<Grey> It is now early morning of the next day and the students have been called to report to one of the training areas to start their training, it was also written on their student schedules located on their datapads.

<Grey> This training area is not as large as the combat training area that was on the tour, however it is still an impressive room, it is good sized for a number of students sitting at individual desks with built in terminals.

<Grey> <<<<<<<BEGIN The Order of Unruh Episode II>>>>>>>>>

<Grey> ACTION: Not all of the desks are occupied but most are, there is also a man in gray robes standing at the back of the room in front of what looks like a large viewscreen.

<Ahki> ::Ahki takes a long look around the room, studying the faces of all of the students. She spots one of the empty desks and seats herself at it::

<Katellan> ::walks into the room, sitting in one of the empty desks::

<Grey> <Man> :: looks over the students in the room, and nodding to the new arrivals::

<Grey> ACTION: The five students who arrived yesterday with Ahki and Katellan enter the room and find seats as well.

<Grey> <Man> :: looks at the students once again and smiles:: All: Good, you are all here. Now, today we will be starting with the basics of the Force. Not applying the Force as abilities, that is another class. But specifically how it works and it's relation to the Universe and the Balance.

<Grey> <Man> All: Now, let's begin. The Force, as you all may or may not know is an invisible energy field that connects everything in the Universe. As Force Sensitive beings, or Force Users, we all here have the ability to tap into the Force and use it when we need it. The Force can be channeled in many different ways. Which will be discussed in another class.

<Grey> <Man> All: In this Galaxy the standard Force Categories you may be aware of are Dark, and Light. The Jedi, are a group of Force Users who have declared themselves the only beings capable of using the Force correctly. And they adhere to that notion of Dark and Light only. The Sith also believe in that theory, however they prefer the Dark side, as opposed to the Jedi who use the Light. That theory however is not accurate.

<Grey> <Student> :: looks shocked and a bit doubtful that everything the Jedi taught them was based on an inaccurate theory::

<Katellan> ::sits at her terminal taking notes and trying to look interested::

<Grey> <Man> All: The Unruh have discovered another theory about the Force that we have found to be more accurate than the Dark and Light Theory. That theory is that the Force has neither a Dark nor Light side, that the Force merely is the Force, that it is simply an energy field that can be tapped into by anyone, no matter what reason they are tapping into it for.

<Grey> <Man> All: Now, we do not yet know when or why the Jedi and Sith developed their misguided theory on the Force, and it does not really matter at this time. As for the Balance, that is another matter. The Unruh have discovered writings and information that leads us to believe that there is a universal Balance, at least in this galaxy, that must be maintained, otherwise there could be disaster.

<Grey> <Man> All: Because of this knowledge we have taken upon ourselves the burden of maintaining that Balance. We once, a long time ago, tried to bring this knowledge to the attention of both the Jedi and the Sith, and were only met with both disbelief and scorn. Because of that we moved our Order into the shadows, where we could grow and work without interference from either the Jedi or the Sith.

<Grey> ACTION: The man continues speaking for quite some time on the basics of the Force and the different theories associated with it, sometimes bringing up graphs and charts on the large viewscreen, until he finally finishes an hour later.

<Grey> <Man> All: Now, any questions before we close for today? :: looks out at the students::

<Katellan> ::hits the button to send her notes to the terminal in her room::

<Katellan> Man: So, how is it possible to hide all this from the Jedi and the Sith? They ought to be able to sense us shouldn't they?

<Grey> <Man> :: turns to Katellan:: Katellan: That is a very good question. And yes, normally they would be able to sense our presence. However, over the decades the Unruh have made astounding breakthroughs in the field of Force Research, and we have found ways to shield ourselves from both the Jedi and the Sith. :: smiles::

<Grey> <Man> :: looks around:: All: Any others?

<Katellan> ::nods and waits to be dismissed::

<Grey> <Man> :: looks out at the students once more then nods:: All: Good, then if that is all you are dismissed. Your next class will be more enjoyable and less boring I promise. I believe it is Lightsaber basics with Instructor Kerrath. :: smiles::

<Grey> ACTION: The students stand and bow to the instructor before leave the room, they then follow the map on their datapads to their next class, which is in a room adjacent to the large combat training room they saw on the tour. Inside the room are more desks, these however look more like workbenches, complete with various tools. The large Togorian Kerrath that they met during the tour is also in the room.

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: smiles and nods at the students as they enter the room::

<Katellan> ::smiles at Kerrath and sits at one of the desks::

<Grey> <Students> :: enter the room and move to empty workbench/desk thingies::

<Ahki> ::follows the other students into the room and offers a polite smile to the Togorian before seating herself at a free workbench::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: nods again as the last student enters the room and finds a desk:: All: Good morning. I am Kerrath, today I will be instructing you on how to construct a lightsaber.

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: motions to the desks:: All: As you may notice on each of your desks are various tools and parts. First you will learn how to construct a training saber. These you will use over the course of your training her at the Temple. Once you have passed the tests and reached the point where you can be accepted as Apprentices to a Master, you will be able to construct a real saber.

<Katellan> ::smiles, nods, and looks over the various things on the bench in front of her::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Your training sabers will not be lethal, but will sting or bruise your opponent. To start with take the outer hilt components and begin assembling them like so. :: motions to another large viewscreen which shows the correct way to assemble the outer shell of a lightsaber hilt::

<Ahki> ::eagerly begins assembling a practice saber, not really bothering to look at the view screen as she is already familiar with the process::

<Katellan> ::looks at the screen carefully, then repeats the process on her own components::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: leads the group through the process of constructing their practice sabers, moving to help those who have trouble, until everyone has finished:: All: Now, set the crystals like so. :: points to the viewscreen again which shows how:: And then activate them. Make sure they are pointed away from the other students.

<Katellan> ::smiles at the last bit of the instructions, then follows the process on the screen before pointing her saber away from the others and activating it::

The Order of Unruh Episode II (Part 2)

<Ahki> :: picks up a violet crystal and sets it inside the practice saber, activating it after she is done::

<Grey> ACTION: Katellan's saber ignites for a moment but fizzles and shuts off. Ahki's saber ignites and stays on.

<Katellan> ::frowns::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: looks at several of the sabers come to life but notices a few that don't:: All: It looks like some of you have made a mistake somewhere. :: moves to each of them and quickly field strips their training sabers, showing them what they did wrong and how to fix it::

<Katellan> ::fixes the saber like Kerrath pointed out, and tries again::

<Grey> ACTION: The students who had trouble before reassemble their sabers, fixing the problems as Kerrath told them how, and their sabers now ignite and stay on.

<Katellan> ::smiles::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: moves back to the head of the class and looks out, counting the sabers:: All: Very good. Now, those sabers are yours to keep and use while you are here. I want you to disassemble and reassemble them whenever you have a few minutes to spare until you can do it in your sleep.

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Understood?

<Grey> <Students> Kerrath: Yes sir.

<Katellan> ::nods::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: shows the class how to adjust the weight and feel of their sabers to suit their own tastes and then finally turns off the viewscreen and smiles again:: All: You all did very well here, now, are there any questions before we move on?

<Katellan> ::shakes her head and powers down her saber::

<Grey> <Student> Kerrath: Yeah I've got a question, how come we get stuck with these worthless low powered sabers? Why don't we get real ones?

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: smiles again, showing his teeth a bit:: Student: Because I don't want you cutting off your own foot or someone else’s until after you are out of my care.

<Grey> <Students except the one who asked the question> :: laughs::

<Grey> <Student> :: sits down and shuts up, giving Kerrath a glare for making a joke at his expense::

<Katellan> ::doesn't laugh, smiles at the student sympathetically instead::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: laughs a bit then looks at the students once again:: All: Any other questions?

<Ahki> ::shakes her head::

<Katellan> ::shakes her head::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: nods:: All: Good, then we can move onto the fun part. :: smiles:: Learning how to use them. :: motions for the students to exit the room::

<Grey> <Students> :: shut off their sabers, and hurry out of the room::

<Katellan> ::walks into the other room with the others::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: follows the students out of the adjacent room as the door closes behind him, and leads them to the far side of the large combat training area, where there is a large empty space where no students are currently training unlike several other areas of the large room::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Now, line up! :: watches as the students line up into one row, facing him::

<Katellan> ::stands somewhere in the middle of the row::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Good, now extend your arms out to your sides as far as you can, if your hands touch the hands of the person next to you you, are too close.

<Katellan> ::holds her arms out to the side::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: notices a few students that are too close together and tells the entire row to step to the side enough so that everyone is the correct distance from one another::

<Katellan> ::adjusts her distance a few inches, and drops her arms::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Good, now, ignite your sabers and hold them in front of you, like so. :: takes one of the two sabers off his belt and activates it, holding it in front of himself at a slight angle::

<Katellan> ::does as shown::

<Ahki> ::follows Kerrath's instructions::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: nods at the ones who got it right and moves to fix the ones who got it wrong, before returning to his position facing them and smiling:: All: Very good, I haven't had a group pick up things this fast in a while. :: lowers his voice and looks at the distant students training in another part of the large room:: But don't tell anyone I said that. :: laughs a bit and gets back into his stance::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Now we will run through the basic stances, strikes, and blocks. :: runs the students through them for another hour, correcting them as they go:: All: Very good. That's enough for today I think. :: powers down his saber and reattaches it to his belt:: You all did very well today, but I want you to practice what you have learned every chance you get. Understood?

<Grey> <Students> Kerrath: Yes sir.

<Katellan> :: powers down her saber, hooks it to her belt, and nods at Kerrath::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: You may see these techniques as just basic stuff that you only need to know to get to the advanced stuff, but you never know when one of these basic blocks or strikes might be useful in a fight, so practice them often.
Session Time: Sat Feb ::

<Grey> <Students> :: nod at Kerrath::

<Grey> <Kerrath> All: Good, now tomorrow I will check your saber assembly skills and we will run through these basic techniques again, and the same the next day, and the next, until you show me that you have mastered the basics and have the control to move on to the next level of training. Understood?

<Grey> <Students> Kerrath: Yes sir.

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: looks at the two students who didn't answer him::

<Katellan> ::nods at Kerrath:: Of course.

<Ahki> ::nods::

<Grey> <Kerrath> Ahki: A nod will do for now. But during training with this many students a vocal answer would be best. :: smiles, no hint of sarcasm in his voice, and then nods again:: All: Good, then you are all dismissed, I will see you back here tomorrow. :: bows to the group then salutes with his real saber, not activated of course::

<Grey> <Students> :: bow to Kerrath but don't salute as they don't know it or what it stands for, and disperse::

<Katellan> ::bows and smiles at Kerrath::

<Ahki> ::follows the other students::

<Grey> <Kerrath> :: smiles back at Katellan::

<Grey> ACTION: Kerrath moves to help some other students who are training, and a soft musical tone can be heard in the halls, which if the new students read their schedules on their datapads, they would know meant that the first free period of the day has started.

<Katellan> ::turns and heads back to her room to study her notes from her first class of the day::

The Order of Unruh Episode III

<Grey> <<<<<<<Begin The Order of Unruh Episode III>>>>>>>>

<Katellan> ::walks into the training area, a bit nervous, but trying not to show it::

<Grey> ACTION: As Katellan enters the same combat training area she has been training in for the past few months, she finds that it is different today, gone are the hundreds of students training in various combat skills, and in their place is a large clear box in the center, surrounded on three sides by ascending rows of benches, which are being occupied by a good number of the students from this wing that are not participating today.

<Grey> ACTION: On the fourth side there are more benches, but they are only occupied by a handful of Masters, Kerrath the Togorian is there, as is Sorah, as well as one of the three Triumvirs, and several other Masters Katellan has not met.

<Katellan> ::walks toward the box and the benches::

<Grey> ACTION: As she draws nearer she spots a blue skinned man in Knight's robes standing below where the masters are sitting.

<Katellan> ::nods to the man in the robes and walks around the area beside the benches, trying to walk off her jitters::

<Grey> ACTION: The man spots Kat and nods back. As she walks around she notices that inside the large box are several obstacles of different sizes and shapes, also there is no visible door.

<Katellan> ::keeps walking, breathing deeply, and just waiting until it's time::

<Grey> <Triumvir> All: Take your seats! :: watches as the non participating students hurry to find seats on the benches, as two Knights direct the students who are, to sit on several rows of benches beneath the Masters::

<Katellan> ::sits where the Masters indicated::

<Grey> ACTION: There are eleven students participating today with Katellan. They look just as nervous as she does. The Triumvir claps his hands and everyone in the room shuts up, as he calls out two names. The two students he called stand and walk to either side of the large box where a Knight shows them where to stand.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Students: Now for the first test, the test of knowledge, how close have you been paying attention to your lessons. There is a door in front of each of you, but you must figure out how to open it. If you cannot simply say so and one of the Knights will show you. However, that might not look very good to the Knights and Masters here who are looking for apprentices.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Students: But I know you will all do your best today, as I hope you have been doing during your training the past few months. :: smiles::

<Grey> <Student 1> :: nods and bows at the Masters as the opposite student does, then turns to the mostly clear wall in front of him and thinks::

<Grey> <Student 2> :: after bowing to the Masters, walks right up to the wall and starts examining it, looking for a seam::

<Grey> ACTION: After a few minutes Student 1 nods and, walking up to the wall, presses his hand against it and a section of the wall the perfect size for a door disappears. Student 2 on the other hand has hit the wall a few times with no success and upon seeing the other student make it through, gives up and a Knight opens it for him.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Students: Very good, now onto the next test. :: runs the students through several different tests of their Force control before coming to the final test:: Alright, we have reached the final test. :: holds out his hand and releases a wave of Force energy, and the walls of the box seem to ripple for a moment::

<Grey> ACTION: The students inside look around quickly, as if they can no longer see outside the box, even though it still looks clear from the outside.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Students: Now you have no distractions, can you hear me?

<Grey> ACTION: The students both reply that they can.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Students: Good, then face one another.

<Grey> ACTION: The students do as instructed, not exactly sure what the final test is.

<Grey> <Blue Knight> :: has looked fairly uninterested through the other tests but leans forwards slightly as if he is watching more closely now::

<Grey> <Triumvir> Students: Good, now bow. :: watches as the students bow to each other:: Now activate your sabers. :: nods as they both do:: You have come to the final test, don't hold back, however remember, your goal is not to defeat your opponent, it is to defeat your own faults and weaknesses. Now begin!

<Grey> ACTION: Student 2 smiles and lunges at Student 1, trying to get a quick kill. However the first Student dodges to the side and comes down with his saber on Student 2's hand.

<Grey> <Blue Knight> :: shakes his head at Student 2::

<Grey> ACTION: The fight continues for several more minutes with Student 2 fighting all out trying to beat Student 1, while he is defensive and only uses counterstrikes. Student 2 eventually gets mad and calls on the Force to try and throw Student 1. However he only manages a short shove which Student 1 recovers from quickly and spins, landing a killing blow on Student 2's neck. Ending the test.

<Grey> ACTION: The students on the benches have been quiet until now and they cheer for Student 1. The Master simply nods as if taking notes.

<Grey> <Blue Knight> :: shakes his head again and stops Student 1 when he comes out of the box, speaking quietly to him before letting him continue to his seat::

<Grey> <Student 1> :: nods and thanks the Knight before returning to his seat, panting a bit now that it is over, he hadn't looked that tired inside the box::

<Grey> ACTION: Student 2 plops down in his seat, a look of frustration and annoyance on his face. The Triumvir calls another set of students and runs them through their tests, before calling on Katellan and another student.

<Katellan> :: takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly as she walks toward one side of the box::

<Grey> ACTION: A Knight shows each of them to their positions on the sides of the box and stands back. The Triumvir tells them to begin.

<Grey> <Student> :: moves to the wall but doesn't touch it, just looking at it and trying to remember his lessons::

<Katellan> ::walks straight to the box and puts her hand on it:: ~~~lets a small pulse of the Force flow toward the box, focusing on opening the door~~~

<Grey> ACTION: The invisible door in front of Katellan slides quickly and silently up into the wall, giving her a clear path inside. The other student is just a few moments behind her and enters from his side.

<Katellan> ::walks into the box and stands looking at the Masters::

<Grey> <Student> :: moves to stand with Katellan, but a good distance apart, and bows to the Masters::

<Katellan> ::bows as well, standing with her hands behind her back::

<Grey> <Triumvir> Both: Now, the second part will test your control of the Force. As you have seen with the other students, there are several pieces of a tower puzzle on the floor in front of each of you. You must not only use the force to construct and hold the tower upright, but you must move the pieces in order as well. Take your time, do your best. Begin.

<Grey> <Student> :: nods and looks at the pieces::

<Katellan> ::looks the pieces over carefully and spots the first and second pieces:: ~~~focuses on the second piece, lifting it and placing it on the first one, holding it there~~~

<Grey> ACTION: Katellan's second piece seems to hold, for now. As does the other student's when he moves his a moment later.

<Katellan> ~~~holds the first two together as she locates the third and adds it to the puzzle~~~

<Katellan> ~~~carefully lifts the pieces from the floor one at a time, holding the tower together as it grows taller and taller~~~

<Grey> ACTION: As the tower grows in height it gets harder to add pieces, as it requires them to be lifted higher and higher. Both Kat and the other student have reached the 18th piece.

<Katellan> ::looks over the last two pieces, deciding which to do next:: ~~~lifts number 19, concentrating fiercely as she sets it on top of the tower~~~

<Grey> <Student> ~~~Lifts the last two pieces together and tries to place them on top of the tower~~~

<Grey> ACTION: Kat's 19th piece wobbles a little but settles on the top of the tower and holds. The other student's tower on the other hand gets jarred by the two pieces being added at once and collapses.

<Katellan> ~~~lifts up the last piece, carefully moving it into place and setting it on the top of her tower~~~

<Grey> ACTION: As Kat's last piece is set on top of the tower she flinches for just a moment from the sound and dust of the other Student's tower falling and her tower starts to tilt and fall. However she manages to right it and hold it up.

<Katellan> ::stands, hands behind her back, looking at her tower:: ~~~concentrates on keeping it up as long as possible~~~

<Grey> <Triumvir> :: nods:: Kat: That is enough. Very good.

<Katellan> ::stands back and lets the tower fall::

<Grey> <Student> :: turns to Katellan and nods admiringly before turning to the Masters and bowing again::

<Katellan> ::smiles at the other student and bows to the Masters::

<Grey> <Triumvir> Both: Now, to the next test. This will also test your control of the Force, remember your training, things are not always as they appear. Now, take several steps forward past the puzzle towers and stop in front of those five blocks in a row on the floor.

<Grey> ACTION: As they step forward they stop at a row of five blocks on the floor, arranged from smallest to largest left to right. With the smallest being the size of a human head, and the largest being the size of a medium sized couch.

The Order of Unruh Episode III (Part2)

<Katellan> ::walks past her fallen tower and stands in front of the row of blocks::

<Grey> <Student> :: does the same::

<Grey> <Triumvir> Both: Now, each block not only increases in size, but also in weight. You must start with the smallest block and lift into the air until it reaches the roof of the testing space and then lower it slowly back to the floor. Make sure to step back and warn the other if you feel you may drop it. Again, take your time.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Both: Begin.

<Katellan> ~~~concentrates on the smallest block, lifting it toward the ceiling of the box~~~

<Grey> <Student> ~~~Moves his own first block but moves it quickly to the top~~~

<Katellan> ~~~lets her box back down gently after it touches the top of the box~~~

<Grey> ACTION: The other Student's block hits the top before Kat's but he almost drops it before bringing it back down and moving on to the second one. Kat's has reached the top and is heading back down slowly, but in complete control.

<Katellan> ~~~settles her first block gently to the floor, then lifts the second one toward the ceiling~~~

<Grey> ACTION: Kat's second block moves to the top the same as her first, steady and smooth. Meanwhile the other student has brought his second block down.

<Grey> ~~~Applies more force and energy to lift the heavier third block, sending it quickly to the top~~~

<Katellan> ~~~touches her block to the ceiling before gently lowering it back down to the floor~~~

<Grey> ACTION: Kat's second block settles easily back to the floor, while the other Student's third block hits the roof hard and almost falls before he regains control and brings it quickly back down.

<Katellan> ~~~moves on to the third block, lifting it as slowly and smoothly as the first two~~~

<Grey> ACTION: Kat's third and fourth blocks go by just as smoothly as her first two, however when the other student tries to lift the fifth block he pushes too hard and it hits the ceiling hard, knocking it too much for him to catch it and it falls. Luckily for him he was able to dive out of the way before it slammed onto the floor.

<Katellan> ::looks over at the other student and takes a deep breath then turns to her last block::

<Katellan> ~~~concentrates on lifting the largest block smoothly to the ceiling~~~

<Grey> ACTION: As Kat moves her fifth and final block she notices that lifting it doesn't seem all that different from the first, in fact they have all felt like that.

<Katellan> ~~~lets the box slowly down after it has touched the ceiling~~~

<Grey> ACTION: As Katellan brings her last block smoothly back to the floor a knight enters the box to rearrange the blocks, he stops near her and tells her not to mention the non-difference in the blocks, assuming she'd figured it out.

<Katellan> ::nods at the knight:: Knight: Of course.

<Grey> <Student> :: pants as he picks himself up off the floor:: All: It's just too heavy.

<Grey> <Triumvir> :: runs Kat and the other student through the other tests until finally coming to the final test:: Both: Now, you know this by now. Face each other, bow, activate your sabers, and begin. Remember, your goal is not to defeat your opponent, but to defeat the faults and weaknesses inside yourself.

<Katellan> ::nods to the Triumvir, faces the other student, bows, and activates her saber::

<Katellan> ::tries not to think about having to face a man in face-to-face combat::

<Grey> <Student> :: does the same, looking a bit tired, but also looking sure of himself::

<Katellan> ::stands in a defensive posture, not planning to make the first move::

<Grey> <Student> :: lunges at Katellan with a faint then spins to the right, striking at her side::

<Katellan> ::moves her saber to the side to block the blow::

<Grey> <Student> :: jumps back as his saber connects with Kat's as she blocks his strike, and spins once again, striking low at Kat's legs::

<Katellan> ::jumps high in the air to allow his strike to pass below her legs, swinging down toward the other student's head with her saber::

<Grey> <Student> :: rolls to the side after his low strike missed, to avoid Kat's strike, and comes up facing her, a few feet away::

<Katellan> ::reverts back to a defensive posture, waiting for another good opening::

<Grey> <Student> Kat: I will *not* lose to a woman. ~~~Uses the force to launch a small object from the ground at Kat~~~

<Katellan> ::raises her saber to knock the item from the air::

<Grey> <Student> :: rushes forward and strikes with his saber in a flurry as soon as Kat is busy knocking the object away::

<Katellan> ::spins to the side to let the other student rush past her, striking at his neck from behind::

<Grey> <Student> :: rushes past Kat but steps on another small obstacle on the floor and stumbles the rest of the way past her, fortunately for him avoiding Kat's kill strike::

<Katellan> ::steps over to the other student after he falls, and strikes at his neck again::

<Grey> <Student> :: smiles, which Kat can't see since he's face down, and spins, kicking up at her, connecting with her stomach and throwing her back a good distance, her saber blade only a hair away from his neck before it though::

<Katellan> ::oofs as her breath whooshes out of her, but catches her balance quickly and returns to the defensive::

<Grey> <Student> :: jumps to his feet and advances on her quickly, rushing at her with a flurry like he did before::

<Katellan> ::repeats her move from the last rush, spinning to the side and striking at his neck as he passes::

<Grey> <Student> :: was ready for her move this time as his was only a faint and ducks her strike, bring the hilt of his saber up into Kat's gut, which is still sore from his kick earlier, and knocks the breath out of her::

<Katellan> ::doubles over, and before the student has a chance to get away she reaches out and grabs a certain sensitive part of his anatomy with her free hand, squeezing::

<Grey> <Student> :: cries out and falls over with her, both of them dropping their sabers as they hit the floor::

<Katellan> ::keeps her hold with her left hand while she holds her right hand out:: ~~~calls her saber to her hand~~~

<Grey> <Student> :: spots Kat retrieve her saber and reaches up to grab her right wrist so she can't use it once she has it::

<Katellan> ::reactivates her saber as soon as it is back in her hand, then reaches down to bite the other student's hand, trying to make him let go::

<Grey> <Student> :: cries out again but doesn't let go, instead head butts her, knocking her senseless for a few moments and rolls away from her, calling his own saber but staying on the floor, panting, trying to get over the pain::

<Katellan> ::shakes her head to clear it, then stands again, back in a defensive stance::

<Grey> <Student> :: staggers to his feet and smirks:: Kat: That was a dirty trick. But I told you I wouldn't lose to a woman. :: runs and jumps at her with a downward strike::

<Katellan> ::somersaults under the student, coming up behind him and spinning around to face him again:: Student: You have no room to talk about dirty tricks.

<Grey> <Student> :: lands and turns quickly, striking upward just in case, even though Kat is out of reach::

<Katellan> ::just stands, defensively, waiting::

<Grey> <Student> :: stays crouched from his landing and smirks:: Kat: You haven't seen the half of my dirty tricks yet. :: grabs a small obstacle with his free hand and throws it at her, lunging right behind it toward her::

<Katellan> ::knocks the obstacle out of the air with her saber, and spins out of reach of his lunge, striking downward at him as he passes::

<Grey> ACTION: Kat manages to knock the obstacle away and avoid the student's lunge, and her strike does connect with his back, right along the shoulder blades, however at the same time he brought his own saber up and to the side to connect with her ribs, also a killing blow.

<Grey> <Triumvir> Both: Enough. It is a draw.

<Katellan> ::deactivates her saber, bowing to the Masters::

<Grey> <Student> :: it is a few minutes before he is able to stand and bow to the Masters, not bothering to bow to Kat as the other students had done after their duels, before heading out of the box::

<Katellan> ::shrugs as the other student stalks off, and walks out her side of the box::

<Grey> <Blue Knight> :: approaches Kat when she exits the box, handing her a towel:: Kat: You fought well.

<Katellan> ::accepts the towel, wiping her face:: Blue Knight: Thank you.

<Grey> <Blue Knight> Kat: That move you did was amusing, not to mention effective, where did you learn something like that? It wasn't around here I'll bet.

<Katellan> ::smiles:: Blue Knight: No, it wasn't. I worked in a cantina for a while, and traveled with some smugglers. A girl learns to be resourceful.

<Grey> <Blue Knight> :: nods:: Kat: Well you seemed to grasp the real concept of all of this. Good job. :: turns and walks back to his place near the Masters::

<Katellan> ::walks back to the benches, sitting down among the other students again::

<Grey> ACTION: Several students smile and nod approvingly at Kat as she retakes her seat. The day’s tests continue for the rest of the students and then everyone is told that they may leave and do as they like for the rest of the day, before classes resume tomorrow, except for some…
