Kiir looked up at Naal. "Would you wish to sit at my table?", he asked while motioning to the chair across from him.
His eyes looked at his drink, and the one she brought. "You never had one of these before, have you?" A chuckle escaped him, as he leaned back in his chair.

Nodding she voiced her thanks and swept her cloak to one side to allow her to sit. She sipped her own whiskey and then nodded to his.
"No, I've never had it, but it looks.... interesting..." She tried to contain her scowl to be polite however it looked like a chemical experiment gone bad. "The bartender seemed to know what you were drinking though."
She watched him take a sip and smirked at his enjoyment of the beverage, "What is it, anyway?"

Elina laughs and shrugs, sipping at her drink. "That is a long story Lukas. The short version is that I am a doctor, spoiled rotten by my father, and decided to see more of the universe. I was with a group for a time, but one of them betrayed me for the bounty my father placed on my head. Worse, the man I thought I loved was involved. When I returned he claimed good intentions, but the relationship fell apart. I struck out on my own again and here I am." Shrugging again, she drains her glass. "I guess the short version is not so short after all."

The Black Hole Tavern
He saw the look on her face and grinned. "The Star Destroyer Sludge looks much worse than it tastes. Of course it's name doesn't make it sound any better."
The drink looked like a greyish milkshake, with swirls of a dark purplish substance mixed into it. It was not a drink to gulp down, for it was much too thick for that, unless served hot, and then it would be too hot to do that anyway. It was definitely a sipping drink.
He slid the new glass towards her. "Want to have a try?"

She watched the glass slide toward her and gazed down into the drink. She chewed her lip for a second before taking the glass and tipping it up to her lips.
The liquid met her mouth and filled her tastebuds with a sensation she'd never experienced before. With a slight wince and a shudder she couldn't help, she set the glass down carefully and smiled at him.
"Interesting..." she said slowly tilting her head to one side and watching the glass, "It really grabs you doesn't it?"
She smiled up at him as she slowly slid the glass back to him. "Thanks, but I'll stick to my whiskey..."

Kiir smiled at her reaction. "I guess it does take some getting used to. It's not all that bad." He looked at her drink. "Whiskey's a bit too harsh for my tastes these days."
Something caught his eye outside, and he quickly glanced to see what it was. It turned out to be nothing more than the wind, blowing a bit of litter past the tavern.
As he returned his look to Naal, he asked,"So, what brings you to this desolate place?" His hand pulled his glass back towards him, and he swallowed the last of his first drink.

He looked around the tavern as she mentioned the "characters" that supposedly frequent the place. He did notice a wide variety of people.
"I was just passing through and needed a drink to relax me a bit." Kiir's mouth formed a smile. "Where do you work and what do you do?" He knew she might not wish to talk shop, but he had to ask.
