As most of you players may know by now, we are getting into some new stuff in SWEF. That means SWEF will need to change a bit so that the new stuff fits with everything else.
What am I babbling on about?
Well, SWEF has always been Star Wars only. However, with the additions of Rogue's Galaxy, 7th Sea and Stargate Delta, we have gone away from being exclusively Star Wars.
Since this is the case, we need to come up with a new name for our tiny group of games. At first, I tried desparately to reuse the SWEF letters in the name, however those attempts did not have any good results. Therefore, several things will need to happen.
1. We will need to create a new name that reflects how we play the games and not which games are played.
2. I will need to buy a domain name for our website, using our newly created name.
3. I will need to sell the SWEF.NET to someone else, since we won't be using it any longer.
What I need from everyone else is suggestions for our new name, so I can get this ball rolling a bit faster.
Things to keep in mind when creating the name are:
1. We play our games in IRC (Internet Relay Chat). Otherwise known as chatrooms.
2. We don't have any set genre for our games, which means anyone with a game they want to run can come to me to submit it, no matter what type of game it is.
3. We will continue to be PG13 rated in our games, so no "sexy" names.

There are so many more possibilities out there, but I think that gives everyone the idea of what we are looking for. Some of those ideas are pretty bad, but maybe the bad ones will get someone thinking of some good ones.
Post as many times as you like with your ideas. I'll pick the one that feels like it fits.

Well, it looks like Heather's offering is well liked.
I was thinking of something else that might not get the best responses, but thought it would be fun to let everyone comment on it.
Here it is: "Textuality: IRC Roleplaying"
I was also thinking of just using a single word name that is totally made up. Sorta like a business name that no one has ever heard of before.
Something like: "Abrocity"
with a tagline like: "The IRC RPG with Vast Horizons"
Or we could use something like: "Dirigible: IRC RPG"
which has no real connection to any of the RPGs that will be played under that name.

Having a unique word for it would be cool but I'm not sure what that could be. I think it should at least have something to do with stories, chatrooms, rpgs, ect... I think we should play on the diverseness of the games now on SWEF and use something that reflects that like Vast Horizons, or Infinite Possibilities? Something like that. ::just tossing stuff out there::

But those ideas are already there. We need new ideas.
It would be VERY difficult to create a unique word that relates to what SWEF has turned into. The unique word idea is meant to make us stand out from the rest of the other networks, organizations, systems, and whatever else people are calling their games these days.
I did a search for IRC RPG Network just to see how many there really were out there. There are quite a lot. One has that exact name even.
I'll do a search for all of the suggestions we have already and see what I can find. I'm sure there are some existing already with some of those names.
As for a unique name, if we do go that way, it will just be a name. How we describe ourselves afterwards will reflect who we are and what we do.
If we go with something that describes us already, we will need to clarify what our name means.
In the meantime, I will continue to think of a catchy unique name. The majority tends to like Vast Horizons, so I will stop thinking of something that directly relates to the games thenselves.

OK, I did some searching on the internet ( Google ), and some of the ideas showed up, but not as a title of any kind. Suprisingly enough, there are some out there that exist. And some are even existing RPG's.
