Correction, the company that makes that product is called Modware, and you can browse their stuff here. Maybe you can find something that would work.

I just ordered most of the parts I needed. It was pretty cheap, actually. I was expecting it to be more. I only need to find a safe latch and pull for it. Obviously it can't be magnetic.

Overall, I think I spent less than $15 on supplies.
I have a dremmel tool and attachments already, so cutting won't be a problem. Except that I'll be cutting some intricate designs into the case to make it all pretty and such.

Hmmm, I might have to buy some adhesive for the window material I bought. ::shrug:: I'll look into it.

FilmCon 5

All I have to say is WOW!!!

I mean, I had a great time this past weekend. There was so much to do and see, and all of it was incredible.

Erik Tiemens was there showing off his work on the Star Wars prequels (he's a concept artist/painter). He even did a demo in Painter 8! I loved every minute of it and watching him work was absolutely incredible.

C. Andrew Nelson was there as well. He's a compositor and rotoscoper. If no one knows what that is, he edits the film to clean up the blue/green screen stuff and insert CG elements into the shots. Very technical, but very cool. Plus, he was a fun guy to talk with.

There were other things that were just as great, but too many to name and describe.

I did spend more money than I originally thought I would. Every FilmCon, there is an auction, and proceeds go to charity. Anyway, there was this artist who created 3'x6' banners for the convention (which I helped put up Thursday). Each had a character from Ep.III. They were tremendous! There was one that stood out to me the most and I had to have it, so I bought the General Grievous banner. I must say, many people were envious of my winning the bid, but they weren't upset. They knew that they could by another one, once more were printed (the artist told them that more can be printed for them). The really cool part is that he signed my banner. I'll have to take a picture of it, once I know where to hang it. emoticon

Of course there was the usual costume contest. Most of the costumes were very good. Some funny as heck, showing that the people who attend have a great sense of humor. I didn't get photos of them, because they said that photos could be taken afterwards, but most of those in costume either left or changed out of them by that time. I do know some of the people who had the better costumes, so I can always get a photo of their's.

Anyway, I know there is more to tell, but I don't want to make this post any longer than it is already.

Who knows? Maybe next time, some of you could attend with me.

Oh My Head Hurts!!!

OK, it's been a while since I've made any kind of posts to this thread and I think I have a lot to say now... as opposed to before, right?

****

Anyway, as most of you know, I moved our website to a new host server recently and not without it's fair share of problems.

The first problem I had was the background color disappearing, making it hard to read the light colored text. The second problem was that the HTML code for some of the pages got scrambled or mis-translated somehow. Both of those problems have been fixed (with the exception of one page that is still a bit scrambled).

A new problem has cropped up since over a week ago. The File Manager for the new Host is not giving me access for some reason. That means I can't make updates and fix the website problems that are still there. I've contacted the Host Server customer service and they have been quick to say that they are working on the problem, but just as quick to tell me that they have sent my problem to a different department to be fixed. So far I have been shuffle twice and am waiting for the third time. I would rather they contact me and tell me that they fixed it. I check to see if they did fix it, every day.

Since I had no access, I copied the web pages and did the updates and corrections to them. That way I can just cut and paste the code in when I finally do get access.

I've also got a few ideas on how to reorganized the website so it's easier to navigate and understand. There would be fewer pages, but more subpages in some cases.

Right now, I need to get my computer with the graphics stuff running so I can create what I need. I'm just not looking forward to doing that just yet... the fixing a computer part, that is.

The Tri-Pod version of the website is still up, but I haven't updated that one. The reason being that the new one is still mostly current, for the moment.

The Fourth of July weekend was very fun. We did quite a bit. A birthday party, an evening picnic, and fireworks.

Next Tuesday (July 11th) is my little girl's birthday. She's gonna be 4 years old. Everyone is anxious, because it's gonna be a big day.
We'll have presents opened in the morning, then go out for brunch (not sure if it will be breakfast time or lunch time, so I'm saying brunch), then we go to a local amusement park with lots of kid's rides. After all of that, we come home and have ice cream cake. Oh yum!

****

Thats about all I have for now. Not sure when I'll get back to this thread again. Maybe when I get access to the website again for those updates. ?????

Oh My Head Hurts!!! PART 2

For those who may care or not, I called the tech support for the website host, and apparently, they are still trying to figure out why I can't get into the File Manager to access the website files. The guy said it was very strange that it's even happening how it is. He even tried it from his end, and came across the same problem.

The good news is that I asked him if access thru FTP would work. He tried it, and the answer was YES. So now all I have to do is get an FTP program installed on my laptop, so I can edit and update the site.

So, in a way, we're back in business, as soon as I get the time to set myself up again.

****

I'm ready for tomorrow's birthday party. All I have to do is keep with what we have planned and hope the weather will be nice... not too hot and not raining.

I should be home in time to play Firefly: From the Ashes. We play late enough that the birthday girl will probably be sleeping or close to it by then.

Oh My Head Hurts!!! PART 3

Here's an update...

So far, the File Manager is still hosed. No new news has been sent to me about any progress being made on the server's end.

However, I have been using FTP access to update the website. I am also doing some changes to the website to make it easier to navigate and understand. With luck, I'll be making even bigger changes eventually.

Most of my work is in HTML, and that means I am somewhat limited in what I can do with simple HTML coding. I'm hoping that, even by using simple HTML, I can make the website look better than it did.

Go ahead and post any ideas for changes to the "New Website vs. Current Website" thread.

My Head Doesn't Hurt Anymore!!!

Alright, they finally got the file manager to work for me. Most of the updates I had done through FTP, so I don't have a huge use for the file manager anymore.

After I figured out the FTP stuff and got a free program that works better than the file manager editor did, I wasn't so stressed over the loss. I guess it turned out to be a good thing.

At the moment, it's August, and I have very little planned, as far as family travel goes. So this COULD be a slow month for me, which makes me say, "FINALLY!!!".

See ya around.
