Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

This series is quite hard to get but was a collaboration for BBC by Neil Gaiman and Lenny Henry so as you can imagine its absolutely amazing.

The basic story is about a man called Mayhew, and how a chance encounter changes his entire life, this series is all about the things we choose to not see normally, and the magic which surrounds us in the world that we fail to notice. It totally was the most random awesomeness I had seen in the last few months.
Of course Gaiman also wrote it as a graphic novel, but the television series came first... for a change.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115288/

[On learning he must face an ordeal]
Richard Oliver Mayhew: Is it the kind of ordeal like visiting a rather bad tempered, elderly female relative is an ordeal, or is it more the plunging your hand into a pot of scalding water to see how quickly it strips the skin off sort of ordeal?

Mr. Croup: Don't think of us as cutthroats and murderers, Miss, think of us as an escort service.
Mr. Vandemaar: Except without the bosoms.

ok, i liked that. it was definitely eye candy even though the plot was a watered-down Alice in Wonderland.

Yeah but it was only Gaimans writing not his visual stuff, that was all Henson Studios or something I think.
Neverwhere honestly LOOKS ghastly but its a great story
