Remote Controlled Webcam
Hey I came up with an idea yesterday. I want to get a remote control car and put a wireless camera on it. And set up a web site where viewers can control the car.
Is it a good idea or am I just a geek?

that's actually a really cool idea! Just be careful where you put the car, though. You think it might be susceptible to getting stuck like all remote controlled cars get?

Put it in your office or dorm or somewhere controlled like that, and make the web interface for controlling it only work for certain hours.
You might also want to put some kind of locator function on it, so you can page it like a cordless phone.
That way each day you can find it, plug it in to charge, and it will be ready for the next day.
Would be pretty damn cool though

That does sound like a good idea. Especially if the camera loses power.
Speaking of this thing, Israel, the next time you see Chad, can you ask him where I can get a relay switch box? I think that's what it's called. John used one of these devices to control the weather camera in Altus. It connects to the computer via serial or parallel port. It takes command that will open or close a switch, and it can be programmed to open something for x amount of seconds, etc.
A basic programming diagram would help also.
