The major differences between Legend and WoW are that because its text based you have to rely on 'imaaaaagination' more, that gives you more depth, even though people wear the same **** a lot you can string it which makes you unique, not just another night elf girl in the same outfit as every other 60th lvl night elf girl.... it also has MUCH better community style.
Because of the smaller player base, and style of play you make closer bonds with people.
On WoW the closest you get to that is joining a guild and pickup groups where you all just discuss spam killing.
Quests on Legend are also infinitely cooler than the WoW style of get 10 eggs and deliver them 20mins real time walk away, kill 40 hatchlings, steal the meat from the cook and give it to the urchin!
Grar, Legend is not like WoW... WoW is like the miserable abortion spawned from the clone of Legend.
Everquest 1 is the closest MMORPG relative to Legend fir the simple fact that its Diku based.

WoW is Warcraft... that big huge-ass game everyone plays. It's a big graphical world where you quest and kill stuff. It's definitely eye candy, but it sucks away you life.
Legend is a roleplaying game that is ALL text. It requires more imagination and smarts, but you do the same; go on quests, and kill stuff. And yes, it can suck away your life, too.

Over 1,000,000 players cant be wrong. Ive got a 60 Hunter. Im proud of him, hes a bad mutha - SHUT YO MOUTH! All the mmorpg has done is take the idea of MUDs and give them graphics. Its the same thing, exactly the same thing. You can talk crap about WoWers, but if you MUD, you waste your life in the same manner! Now, all you naysayers, go watch the trailer for the new WoW expansion and tell me it doesnt look friggin RAD! One more thing. Online roleplaying is about balancing games and life. You can do tabletop roleplaying in chatrooms and spend as much time doing it as you can a graphical game. I have a life outside of WoW, and still have time to get to level 60 and track down some nice gear, AND play a hundred other games at one time! So... NYAH! :D

I just met a guy who is in his late 40s and plays religiously... well, he just started, but he's hooked. He's admitted to me that he prints out huge booklets of tips and walkthroughs, puts them in 3-ring binders, and he's happily on his way. Haha. But he plays with his kids... it's a way for him to be closer to his family. So I do give props to WoW for that.
The least likely people seem to play this game. heheh.
