Newest Obsession - Final Fantasy 12
It takes alot for a game to make me cream my panties... but this one... Let's just say it's a mess in my nether-regions.
The opening is great, immaculate details to CG sequences. Highlights on armor and hair folicles, reflections on water, glints in eyes, wavy colorful wooshes all over when casting magic... It's beautiful.
And check out this chick! This is Fran, one of my favorites so far. The whole world is based off the Tactics world, and it's amazing to see it come to life instead of trapped in little turn-based squares. Fran is the hottest chick, probably rivaling Lulu from FFX. The camera angles can be tricky, but if you do it right, you can see her beautimus thong up close. Hahah. But anyways, the skill system is great. You use this grid thing and allocate points all over. You can make any character any class you like at any point.
I'm currently about 20some hours into it, and I can't wait to beat the bejesus out of it and get every little hidden thing that you know FF games have always had. More updates and reviews as I feel like it.

This game is awesome sauce!
The greatest thing, so far, aside from the graphics, is fighting system. You can have your characters, 3 at a time, do all kinds of cool ****. Like the traditional FF spell, fire/fira/firaga/ with another level firaja. Black, White, and Green Magic. Plus cool teqniques, very unique to the game. Uh... The is SOOO much cool ****. But it is totally different than all of the earlier FF's. I guess closely related to FFX, but with a better fighting system. No more freakin' random encounters! You can choose who to fight, and who not too; flee when you want. Man, I could go on. I don't know about you, but I think this is some badass ****! I'm approximately 45 hours into the game. Damn does time fly by.

I'm hoping that we get to customize armor and weapons later on in the game... there seems to be 'ingredients' popping up here and there that seem like they would be good for mixin'.
I look forward to the weekends so I can look at Fran's ass.

OK I have a question ... I have never played any of the FF games, with Steven we're more of a Nintendo and Mario game players. We recently acquired our old roommates PS and he has FF10. (This might sound like a dumb question) Do you have to have knowledge (per se) of past FF games to know the general plot/idea of more recent games??

oooh, Crystal, you're going to play!! FF10 is fantastical. It made me cry like a wussy.
No, you don't have to know past plotlines or anything to play the game independantly. They do make references to past characters and places for nostalgic purposes for the hardcore FF Fan, but I think you'll be fine with FF10. The graphics are great, and the world is suuupercrazy but easy to get into.

I'm about 36 hours in, haven't played it since gears of war came out =( My main party consists of balthier, ashe, and whatshisfacethemainprotaginist. I can't stand fran >_> <_< O_o
