Hehe. You're silly. The cell phone thing is bogus. The only thing really that's dangerous when pumping gas is entering and exiting the vehicle, building up static electricity in yourself and possible shocking close to the gas vapors. As long as you don't do that, and remember to discharge your self by touching metal on the car. Then pump.

when i worked at shamrock i would see people talking on their cell and pumping gas ... my manager would yell at me to turn off the pump. i just kinda laughed at her ...

i wonder if they did case studies on this kind of stuff...
This is what Snopes
has to say about it.
Apparently, in most if not all cases of gas station explosions thought to be caused from cellphones being used, it was actually STATIC ELECTRICITY that started the fires. Static electricity can be a *****, no?

Ever watch that show Myth Busters? I forgot what channel it's on, but they actually did something about cell phones and pumping gas. They had someone with all these cell phones at the gas station pumping gas, and some other guys called the phones .... .... .... and nothing happened!!!!
