Register Your eBay Code Name
eBay has begun to disguise the identities of bidders in their auction bidding histories. However, we as collectors need to know who we are bidding against so that we can avoid bidding against each other and unnecessarily driving up prices of cherished objects.
Basically, what eBay has done is create a code name for every eBayer by choosing two letters (or numbers) at random from their eBay trade name. For example, if your trade name is abigails_grandma, your code name might be something like this:
b***s
There is no particular order, and sometimes the same letter or number will be used twice. Code names are periodically changed.
To determine the two letter code that will be used in your bidding history, just go to an auction where you have placed a bid, save the auction link in your web browser’s Favorites, then log out of eBay. When you open the link to the auction and look at the bidding history, you will see your secret code.*
Once you have it, register it here. That way other cabal members will be able to check this register and tell if the person who has placed a bid on an object is another cabal member. If your information changes, register again. I will rapidly update the list as I receive new information.
To register your code name, just make a post as follows that includes your eBay code, your current rating, your eBay trade name, and your cabal name. This particular example happens to be my own code, rating, eBay trade name, and cabal name:

Registering your eBay code here is entirely optional. All it does is help other cabal members avoid bidding against you.

*If you want to find out right away what your secret code is, I recommend that you place a bid on an auction that starts very low and that you could not possibly win for that price. A good example is a brand new factory sealed laptop computer that was listed an hour ago and that is starting for $0.99. If you place a bid of $1, there is almost no possibility that you will win and you probably won’t mind if you do.
