OK, I did as I said I would and moved all of Jess’s image posts to The Sood, made them all sticky, and gave them uniform names.

Hello Collectors! My name is Jess and I am from Albuquerque, NM. I worked on the "The Lost Room" as a Set Dresser and right from the beginning I felt this was an intriguing show. It was a great show to work on and the cast and crew was amazing. Peter Krause was very nice and very approachable. My wife worked on this show as well, working in the casting department. Anyways....onto the objects! I was not able to get my hands on any except for one of the pens which was given to me by the Prop Master. I tried to get one of the keys......but the producers had first dibs! I did have the bus ticket in hand.....but there was talk of the show turning into a full blown series and there was only one bus ticket left.

I do have a ton of photos from the sets and assorted others items. If you would like....I can post some!

I am looking for fan made objects....I did recently get a key and fob from Ebay.

Cheers
Jess

I am just in envy that you worked on the set alone. I was always interested in the film business. But I know how hard it is work in that field. So, I never tried. I think I'll stick to my geekdom of science & electronics.
lol. emoticon

Well, it's really nice to meet you Jess. I'm Tai. I saw your pics and I wanted to tell you in this post instead of thousands of them that I loved all the pics you took. I love set photos. You get angles that you don't see on film, different lighting and such. It's fascinating really, at least in my opinion.

Your photos will help me (and I am sure others most definitely) look for the right products to buy for our own collections.

Thank you and much appreciation from my end.

You are welcome Tai! I am glad you and everyone else has enjoyed them!!! The weird thing is....many years ago I had moved to Southern California to try and get my foot in the door of the film industry. Everything I did was in vain....I could not get in the biz no matter how hard I tried.

A little background on me.....I am a huge Star Wars geek.....always have been since 77'. For the past 10 yrs or so I have made Star Wars props. Props like blasters and armor.

Total geek huh?

On to fall of 2005.....I get a call from a guy claiming to be a producer of a film called "FanBoys" getting ready to be shot here in Albuquerque and he explains it is supposed to be a film about these 4 Star Wars geeks trying to steal a copy of Star Wars "The Phantom Menace" before it comes out. He asked if I would be available to help with some props and set dressing. I thought it was a joke and someone was setting me up emoticon Well....it turned out to be real.....and that is how I got into the film industry.....I was not looking to get in the industry.....and it fell in my lap. I even got a part in the film working right next to Seth Rogen!

Here is a link to the teaser trailer of that film:

....and the newest trailer:

I got to double for Dan Fogler in one scene.....driving the van and pulling into a drive thru window....wearing (my) Stormtrooper helmet!

Re: Hello From Albuquerque

YOU GOT TO WORK ON FANBOYS!!!!!
I have been waiting & waiting for that movie to come out, I think for over a year now. I'm a fan of Kristen Bell (her movies & Heroes work)
When I went to Comic-Con (San Diego) this past July, my friend & I went to one of the Star Wars panels (cause we are fans of the saga as well, just excluding the props like yourself *frown*). Well the panel was for fan awards for fan-made videos. At the end, all of a sudden Kyle Newman (that's the director right?) & Kevin Spacey were on the stage and he introduced a sneak peek of the movie "Fanboys". I actually did one of those "fan-squeals" It was funny.

But OMG!!! That is amazing.Your Star Wars gear. The closest thing I have to something of Star Wars looking is this oversized poncho jacket I got for x-mas. I can either claim to be a jedi...or Harry Potter the female version.
I'd take a photo, but all I have is a webcam and not a very good one. emoticon See...(i think the thumbnail is clickable)
Image
And...I love my hat!!!
(i hope that code works for on there)

I'm still in awe with the photo of KBell. I have to be honest...I am a huge Heroes fanatic. But I never liked that one show of her Veronica Mars, but I love-love-loved her on Heroes.

I do like Star Wars myself. When I went to Comic-Con I snagged some footage of the panels I went to Star Wars. I kept staring at the R2D2 prop in the exhibit hall cause I was like a little kid going "oh my god, that's R2D2" I think I was one step away from acting like a fangirl. But for my Star Wars gear that I really want, it the double sworded light-saber! ^_^

Well, now when I go see Fanboys, I will think..."hey, I know someone (kinda) who doubled and worked on this movie!" I'll probably even point and yell with the double scene. lol.

Damn, now I want to work on a set badly. Don't know what I could do though. I know nothing of that sort of field really. Though about taking a few film editing courses, but that was really all. I'm glad you got lucky with your break though. Fanboys is gonna be AWESOME.

O_O Oh dear...I gotta go. Stupid errands to do. :\
See you later!!!

Jess,
I'd like to add the 728x90 banner to The Collectors homepage but it's the only widget that doesn't have a "Get and Share" function. Any ideas?

Just noticed the link changed. Here's the new one. Still no share function for that banner though.
