Re: Spikosaur Collection
My camera came. It’s heavy and it’s enormous:

Re: Spikosaur Collection
Despite my surprise at the size and weight, I can’t see why a reporter would have an instant camera. Wouldn’t a reporter want a real camera?
This is the kind of camera someone uses to take mug shots or evidence shots—pictures that need to be accessed right away. Someone running around gathering observations that are part of some sort of experiment would use this kind of camera.
This kind of camera would be handy if you were trying to keep your work totally secret. Contrast this with the problem encountered by Harold Stritzke. I’m sure Eddie wasn’t doing anything so perverse, but the parallel suggests a similar concern.

Re: Spikosaur Collection
I've heard that Polaroid cameras can be used to expose the film in such a way that it creates a panoramic photograph; that those cameras are often used by snowboarders to take a picture of an entire mountain top from its peak.
I don't know if the 95b did this, but if it could, it just adds a layer of plausibility to the 360 degree Object Polaroid.

Re: Spikosaur Collection
Here is my lighter. I got it at a watch repair stand on my way home from a get-together yesterday.

Re: Spikosaur Collection
This is my third attempt at getting the TV. The first time, I bought it really cheap through eBay, and the seller disappeared before I figured out a way to get it shipped. That bothered me, but I must admit that it was for the best. The TV I bought was a 17T9 instead of a 17T13, so it was not exactly right. The second time, I actually received the TV (another approximation) but it was just too different from the show.
Chuckles emailed me one day and asked if I was still interested in getting the TV. I said yes, and he put me onto a person who had contacted him from New Jersey. This person had a 100% paulian 17T13.
The biggest problem with collecting the TV is not finding it. The biggest problem is getting it from wherever you find it to where you live. I obviously was not planning on going from Seattle to New Jersey any time soon, so we had to mail it. Unfortunately, vintage TV’s do not do very well in the mail.
The solution was to break it up into three pieces and mail it in three separate boxes:
The three pieces were the tube, the chassis, and the case. I must complement the seller on his packing. He did a marvelous job. If he wants to revel in any glory for his good work, I invite him to come on and do so. I won’t credit him by name unless he does.
After a month, the seller got all three pieces to me. He was pretty insistent that I pay for everything in advance, so this took quite a bit of trust on my part. Finally, they all got here. Today I put them together.
In order to install the picture tube, I had to fashion a gasket out of a rubber inner tube:
Here is the case. I had to wash the glass cover very thoroughly before assembling:
Here is the chassis. The little white slips and blue pieces of tape are notes the seller put all over the place to guide me in putting it together. Very heroic duty on his part:
Here is the tube in the chassis:
Putting it together was a lot easier than I expected. However, I could not have done it without all the instructions.
