Very nice, especially that radio, which is beautiful!

Did you paint it, fix the knob, etc?

So that's the radio. That looks really sharp—like new! And now you have made it easy for me to find the coat hanger. I know just where to go.

Thanks Paul ! I worked very hard on The Radio ! I bought 2 Grundig 88U's on Ebay and used the best of both to build a 100% restored unit. One radio I bought had both knobs, all the screws but a cracked case and while the other had a perfect case but missing knobs & missing screws. The one with the good case I painted very carefully 10+ coats of Krylon Ivory Gloss 1504 after sanding the surface with 220 grit wet/dry sandpaper to remove the original plastic sheen. I waited 30 min between coats (while drinking a few Molson Canadian's on Tap) . believe it or not I used Scotch Tape to mask off the radio....sticks great and leaves no residue. after final coat was on I let it dry for 1 hour until I removed the tape. Now after sitting for 4+ hours the paint is very hard and its ok to handle. all in all it worked out very well ! Like Spike said..it looks like new ! and it's fully functional and works great !

As for The Coat Hanger...it's an easy Object to obtain. (go to the legion for more info) On mine all I did was sand the shiny chrome hook with 220 grit at various places using various pressure doing it. the wood I left alone but you could always soak it in water for 2+ days and let it dry in the hot sun to age it. then scotch brite it lightly.

I see Paul's point. From now on, when anyone sees one of the other collections, they will say, "Yes, but where's your TV?"
