Re: Television in Baltimore
Excellent news!
Mr. Liver,
I'm heading up to Baltimore tonight to pick up your TV. Please send me a PM with your name, address and email. I'll take the TV to the UPS store, have it boxed up and shipped to you, then send you a Paypal invoice for the total.

Re: Television in Baltimore
Dang, Where am I going to put it? Does anybody know if this one is working? And about how much is this all going to cost me Paul?

Re: Television in Baltimore
I wouldn’t worry about whether or not it works. If it does, it won’t for long—unless you go into the vacuum tube business. You could get it restored to working condition, but that would be a big commitment.
So far, Paul’s travelling expenses are covered. I am assuming he does not intend to charge you for his time—although that is up to him. The shipping could come to $150, depending on how you get it shipped (all at once or in pieces). Any way you look at it, you are not out of the woods by a long shot.
No one ever said it was easy to acquire a TV!

Re: Television in Baltimore
Spike I appreciate it but I'm not going to accept anything for my time or travel. This is a quest I'll enjoy taking on. Dispaminite mentioned that the TV was broken but I agree with Spike. This is one object that's just for display. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress.
I really don't want to get into taking a 50 year old TV apart and shipping it in pieces but I trust the UPS store. Recently I shipped a $4000 item and they packed it so well you could run over it with a bulldozer and it wouldn't get damaged.

Re: Television in Baltimore
I won’t argue with a man who wants to save me money.
The method of shipping you are suggesting could be quite expensive. I am curious to hear the exact figure.

Re: Television in Baltimore
I have returned with the TV in hand! The drive was long and exhausting. Thank you, Spike for being my temporary Sugar Daddy.
Pictures to follow when I've rested up. Should be later tonight.
