I will hopefully post a picture in the morning unless i meet with my friend for my project we are doing.

Re: The Real Watch

Ok all i am finally awake.
Image

From what i can make out its a;

Bulova
17 (or 18) Jewels
Selfwinding i think... its hard to tell.
it is either selfwinding, or something?

But i have not been able to tell much more because i do not know the date or what not. but it only has the two main hands (no large second hand) but it dose have the smaller one. so if anyone finds this let me know so i can know the year.

I have been doing a search around the internet and back and have NOT come with a picture of it. this must be a rare watch or something. but here are some that are close in random ways...

Awesome....I believe that it's a Bulova 17 jewel watch with sunburst pattern and sub-second accessory. the case is the true sum***** to find. the lugs are very, very unusual. I have not seen a case even close yet.

I have considered that the prop guys may have stuck Bulova guts in another brand case but I doubt it. so far all the Objects and their particular quirks are all real and do exist.

Re: The Real Watch

While the color is off the box looks close i would have to compare screen shots but i think the case is close

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-BULOVA-watch-green-black-velvet-Fifth-Avenue_W0QQitemZ230206762903QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230206762903

I hate to say it sir but i disagree with you about it being a 23 jewel because i spend a lot of time looking at the picture but from what i can make out the first number is 98% certain is a one.

Here is a watch that is really close just dosen't have the right desgin on the face and the extra lettering

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1955-Bulova-Solid-14K-Gold-21-Jewel-Wrist-Watvh_W0QQitemZ110177250831QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110177250831

But however here is another one that has the right design.
http://cgi.ebay.com/vintage-23-jewel-self-winder-Bulova-fancy-lugs_W0QQitemZ310011323141QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item310011323141#ebayphotohosting

this one has the right type of hands on it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bulova-Vintage-14kt-Gold-Fancy-Lugs-CHOICE_W0QQitemZ220188112603QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220188112603

I am taking these pictures with me in my sample Catalogue design and see if it helps me find the watch. I want to go hunting for it today and some other objects. and this way i can test to see if the catalogue works well in this design and if not i will know what to change ^_^.

well my hunt was not able to go very well. of course i picked a holiday to go around and every pawn shop, thrift store, and antique store was closed. and so i did not get to find even one object... (even the watch store)

But i will go on my next day off and see if i can find it

Has anyone found a watch?
This must be the hardest to find Object. I even posted a query on alt.horology, but they were no help.

I've checked every forum, every dealer, both online and in a hundred mile radius looking for the watch, not to mention checking eBay twice a day, every day since I started this little quest with no success.
