Re: The Suitcase Found !!!!!

I saw that when it came up for auction but once again I did not post it due to it not being 100% paulian.

Lately I feel that posting semipaulian or less Objects seems to generate no bids......possibly a waste of time.

Am I wrong ?? should we post Objects that are semi or less ??

BTW...that suitcase is EXACTLY like mine in every way......it is a nice suitcase to own...rugged, heavy duty and solid !

I think that close objects are news. They show what is available and may be of some help to someone. Also, they show what search criteria seems to be working. Finally, posting close objects gives us a way of reporting our search experience. It lets people know we are looking.

A good example is the mirrored tray. It was only after X found the mirrored tray that people started searching in earnest for the tray and Dis found the non mirrored one. Another example is the Campho Phenique tins. If I had never seen any tins similar to the paulian one, I might think we have no chance of finding the correct one. Now that I have seen two close matches, I am considerably more confident.

When I see a close object that is merely interesting, I post it in the appropriate thread. When I see a close object that may be mistaken for the paulian one and end up costing someone some money, I post it in the Object Warning thread. That is my policy. You may, of course, adopt your own.
