Re: The Wall Painting
OMG I totally forgot!!
Trees tend to grow towards the sun == south
also, if there´s any moss, it´s on the north side of the tree
so looking on this pic:
The building at the background should be South-West from the tree = around Oxfort Street

Re: The Wall Painting
Painting is IN HAND.
the artist wants me to look at it a while, and see if there is anything that needs adding, or changing.
Given the low quality of the source material, i think it's quite good replica.
the flash has taken away some of the details, and makes it look quite brighter and flatter than it is.
i think it could use a bit more "brush" details, almost like, a round brush dabbing for foliage, and some strokes in the tree bark.

Re: The Wall Painting
Indeed it looks flat, comparing, almost unfinished flat. Can you take a pic without a flash??
Or is it unfinished, only to given for comments?
This also proves the Wall Painting is not actually a painting, but a colored photograph,
however talented a painter, you always see it in your own eyes, so you end up loosing details and adding your own. Also each painter always use their own palette of colors. In this case we need a copy-cat, not an artist :P
They do not look alike as if they were the same painting, yet. But the positioning and angle are good. Did you show her all the images of the area? The other photographs help with the details.
See the left-hand tree... She painted it as if it was twisted... I do not see that on the photograps of the area.
Perhaps it is just me, but the branches and trunk seems to my eye to be in different order... I imagined the thick "branch" to belong to the trunk of the tree behind.
Look the background tree-tops... I do not think they oughto be that bright...
I would love to try this task myself, but I am afraid I might run tight with the hours of a day....
Not judging her talent here, she obviously is a good painter.
