Re: The Wall Painting

The two merged
If she did that composition by bare eye, I´m ******* impressed!
RED: artist
GREEN: original

Re: The Wall Painting
Some pointers, and again, I am not doubting her talent. She is terrific!
A Branch missing
B Slight difference in position
C Too sharp turn
D Too thick branch
E background tree trunk or branch missing
F Needs more gap
G Needs more air

Re: The Wall Painting
I´ve got few PMs from fellow collectors, who wish to remain anonymous. So I am acting as a spokesman.
1. The memorial stone is too small
2. Not to critizise unfinished product, but the lack of details and bright colors caused a worry among the PMers: they seem too posterized... waiting the finished painting to look more natural.
3. There is a tree-trunk missing at the right side of the road, at the far end of the scene.
4. Some of the right upper corner branches are too wide.
And I agree with all who PMed me: none of these pointers are to be taken as an insult. We just have been staring the painting so many months now, we see it every time we close our eyes.
We feel for the artist, as her task is ungrateful at best... but we are grateful!
P.S. This is also my official 400th post

Re: The Wall Painting
i'll bring the painting back to her next time i'm in Halifax, with a link and list back to here. i'm sure she's already been here, this is where i sent her for the images to use.
don't worry at all about the details, or the brightness, that was pure flash. i do agree though as well that it can use a bit more .... less poster look, but the painting as is, has MUCH more detials and matching tones and colors to the original than what the image i posted showed.
