2012 The end?
I watched the special on Nostradaumus the other night. He with many others are pointing to the year 2012 as possibly the end of everything or some universal change. I'm torn in this. Everyone thought Y2K was gonna be a big change of some sort, it wasn't. The only thing with 2012 is that there will be some excellent astronomical changes and conjunctions. Hey, I hope something happens, good or bad. They way the world is going, I don't have much faith in humanity. The world is falling apart. Human beings are speeding this along. People are reaching for every little thing that may appear to be some sort of sign, something needs to happen to smack our collective minds. Is it the end of days? Maybe. Maybe not. This might be the last spark of hope I have left. Might 2012 just be another year? Quite possible. I don't buy into everything I hear but it's nice to have some options.
And...............discuss. lol

The great universal change will come with the technological singularity. It could conceivably come in 2012, but I would set the date around 2030. Since I tend to believe in synchronicity as a distinct phenomenon, I am willing to consider that the Mayans may have been correct about the date.
I don’t agree that the world is falling apart. I think it is getting better every day. The reason why we are so interested in predictions like that of Nostradamus is that we are bored. There is nothing more boring than relative peace and prosperity.

I personally do not buy into predictions/prophecies.....every single one never comes to pass......usually hucksters and charlatans promote such drivel.
2012 will go by with a whimper just as the 2000 Millennium hogwash did.

2012 isn't the end of the world, as predicted by the Mayans. 2012 is when their calander ends. The countdown begins again.
True Academic Researchers don't prescribe any significant event.
That said....2012 looks like it'll be an entertaining movie.
