posticon MARKETING MATERIALS

Does anyone make marketing materials such as note pads, pens, buttons, post-its. Things that can be handed out for marketing purposes. Are there any tutorials out there for these things? I have found lots of notepads tuts.. but looking for other things that might be cheaply made but look good and able to be handed out.

Thanks for any suggestions, links, and help.

Do you want to make your own products because if you don't there's a company called Armstream, I think that's how they spell there company name. Also there is another website that you can make own stuff is called edps-nj.com that you can make your own notepads and they are also have a good turtorial to learn from it. I brought my stuff from that company and made my own notepads from there products and you also can buy the padding compound and the notepad viser from craftypc and edps-nj. You also can buy the back boards from edps-nj. Its that what was looking for.

Hey Christy,
Thanks for the info. I have seen some sites to make your own note pads and it does look like something I might try out. And yes looking for the info to make these things myself if possible. I have oodles of sites that sell these things... but I saw somewhere a site that makes their own post-it notes. not only a pad of paper stuck together but with stickum on the back like post-its. was wanting to try those also... any other marketing ideas would be great help too ..Going to site you mentioned now. Thanks again. emoticon

ImageDebbie, I just thought another thing if you want to make your own post-it you can use---3M--they have a project that you can make your post-it and you also can use a temportary glue type and use them as a post-it its like when its really wet or dry can't remember now put the paper on it--its not permantly there.

May be use rubber cement???

The temporary glue sticks available in most office supply stores are the easiest way to make it post-it notes.

You can also make your own pens by buying the regular papermate stick pens and printing your design on an adhesive backed paper and then just roll it around the pen.

You can also do the same thing for buttons if you buy the blank metal buttons (available in a lot of craft stores as well) and then print your designs on either round labels that match the size of the buttons or do them on full sheets labels and cut them out.

A tip for the buttons - rather than cutting the circles out ahead of time, print the labels and then cut them out in a square a little larger than your button. Stick them on and then lie the button face down and trim the excess off with a sharp craft knife. I just did this with mint tins (another good promotional item! Just fill them with butter mints or candy) and printing the labels larger and then trimming them was soooo much easier than trying to get them cut cleanly ahead of time. Also, rather than using a sticky backed paper for this, I chose a glossy white flyer paper for white tins (I'll send you the link if you're interested) and used a glue stick applied to the top of the tin. Then hold the tin and your square of paper up to the light to make sure you have it placed correctly. The nice thing about using a glue stick is that if you need to move the label a bit the glue stick will allow you to do that. Then just flip the tin over and trim around the edge with the sharp craft knife. I used an Alps printer with metallic inks and they came out gorgeous!

Another idea...matchbook mints! If you need help doing them, drop me a line. The actual project is in our upcoming book - Creative Computer Crafts - due out in November.

Hope this helps! Give a shout if you have any questions!
